Online "relationships" have been accepted in many countries as grounds for divorce!! It is very hurtful to think you are all ok, then find out your partner is advertising themselves as "single/unattached" and looking for a soulmate!! Does anyone else think its ok to do this while in a relationship?

no, it's definately NOT ok, but it is an acceptable means of finding a partner if you both are truly single.

Of course, I agree with you GG. Its a good way to find someone but not if in a relationship already. My friend was heartbroken when her other half did this to her. He stopped short of meeting up physically but they were pretty involved.....She read some of the exchages and like I said, she was heartbroken. (they are finished now by the way!!)

But so hard to find these days!! People always thinking that "something better" might just be round the corner.......
Someone once said "happiness is not having what you want, its wanting what you have" how true.

If I was single ( which I'm not ) and I had told you in a email exchange that I was a fat , bald , ugly bugger with only a few of my own teeth   would you have continued the internet relationship long enough to find the real kind and considerate person I am or would you have dropped me like a ton of bricks at the start :? .

I must admit I've always been 100% honest ( except for the above description  ) and I personally feel it's the only way that a relationship or day to day life should be even though sometimes it can be a problem as not everybody is honest or appreciates honesty.

I really have a real problem in Cyprus as most folk here are two faced and what they say is not always what they mean ~ my honesty is rarely appreciated in normal day to day life.

Bill I was referring to the dishonesty of being in a relationship and deliberately advertising oneself as unattached and available. This is not only unfair to the internet lady/man but doubly so to the partner by your side who loves you. With regards photos etc I personally would only send my picture after establishing a rappor with that person. I think the internet is good way to meet like MINDED people, the physical attraction can come after (or not as the case may be). the opposite can also be true you know, a person lacking in confidence could refrain from contacting an otherwise "ideal" match ( hobbies, interests etc etc ) purely because that person seems "too" attractive to be possibly interested in them!!!

Tess, I hope your friend took every penny out of him plus more. Did they have kids? I wonder how they feel, did they get over it yet?

She done good to end it with him. Once a cheat, always a cheat.
