In the summer of 1570, the Turks struck again, but this time with a full-scale invasion rather than a raid. About 60,000 troops, including cavalry and artillery, under the command of Lala Mustafa Pasha landed unopposed near Limassol on July 2, 1570, and laid siege to Nicosia. In an orgy of victory on the day that the city fell--September 9, 1570--20,000 Nicosians were put to death, and every church, public building, and palace was looted.

The same number as now. We would just not speak Greek but some other language maybe. Greeks didn't kill Cypriots and they didn't steal land. If Turks didn't invade Cyprus we would be much more. When the babrarian Turks invaded us they killed 20.000 Cypriots and then they treated us so badly and killed us whenever they felt like that the population of Cyprus didn't increase for 300 years

Murataga do you know that the Latin alphabet that you are using comes from the Greek alphabet? You were not smart enough to make your own alphabet but you blame small Cyprus because we liked the Greek civilization like everybody else?
