I cannot believe people are still trying to defend Makarios!

This is insane...You people are living in cookoo land if you can't see what kind of man he really was. You're seriously in denial! You just don't get it...if a BISHOP is endorsing murder OF ANYONE NO MATTER WHAT THE REASON MAY BE then this tells you that something is NOT RIGHT!!!!!!!!! And given how he was precieved by MOST OF THE WORLD I can't believe you then turn around and say it was propaganda or false.... This is truly shocking and in a way frightening!!!

So it seems the vast majority of TCs would prefer someone else other than Makarios to have been the president of the Republic. However nobody so far has ever given us a name. Who would you like to be the President back then. Eric, its your topic you should have an opinion. Give us a name.

What puzzles me here is what Eric said that he is not sitting on any Gc land in the occupied, neither signed anything to his "trnc authorities", because he wants his OWN land in the government controlled areas back, or compensation.
Yet he wants either partition, or annexation with Turkey. How the hell does he ever expect to get his land back or compensation if ANY of his preferences ever occurs???? Any ideas anyone?

As for who Eric is, here's my educated guess: A person who wandered all around Europe from his young age until he ended up in England. From what he says, from the way he knows very well the attitudes and customs of mainland Greeks I tend to believe that he either lived for some time in GREECE as well, or had very close ties/associations with mainland Greeks abroad.....

NB. I aleady said I never liked Makarios because he couldn't handle the state, and make it function according to law and order. But I also said the TCs should thank God Makarios was the president and NOT anyone else.I bet Erik and his likes, would never be able to spell an alternative name they would like to have as President back then.
