How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

As far as your coments to Miltiades about how Surrey is going, well due to the trnc violation of refugee rights some of us cannot return. Due to imminent threat of war from Turkey some of us who lost people in 1974 are scared shitless to come back to our homeland if it means being conscripted and having to face the same fate as our relatives

Very silly comment. For the average Cypriot, TC or GC, living in Cyprus is physically safer now than in the 25 years before 1974, and probably safer now than at any time in the last half century.

i rang up and sked both embassies in london regarding living in cyprus
ia sked the turkish speaking side im a greek speakign cypriot and i wnt to live in the north will they take me into the army the rply was no..........not unless i became a citizen....

i told them i m alreaddy a citizen of cyprus how many times i have to be a cypriot

i rang the greek speakign embassy and ashed the same question i said im turkish speaking cypriot and i want to live in the south will they take me into the army

their reply was no becouse you are turkish cypriot

i said im not atruking cypriot or a greek cypriot im just a cypriot even thought i speak one of the language

they went onto point out the zurich agreement to me

i told them i know all about that peeace of paper that that is not worth anything to anyone but the iggnorant and uneducated people

on that note they put the phone down on me

how can we be united when they are constantly deviding us the very people who are supposed to be representing us

that is my question to the forum

Looks like the Turkish view has moved more towards recognition of the TRNC, a few years later and the Gcs will be beging for the AP to be brought back.

Don;t think so mate, but whatever happens it will be none of your business. You'll all be Turkish citizens by then and we'll be dealing with some mainlanders.

Your probaby right we chose them over you back in 1974, you had your chance in 1960 and made a right mess of it. In the near future you can sit down with Turks and try and resolve your issues, time is not on your side as the north may even become part of Turkey.

As is said before nothing much wil change for us...we've been living like this for a while now. The life changing event will be yours when you officially become Turkish citizens. No more TC's, just some mainlanders wandering around in the north till somehting happens.

I know you are genuinely concerned about us, but we made our choice in 1974..dont forget Turkey is where we originally come from. I know you are devasted to find out that we reject living in a GC state run by GCs bu hey thats life you wil finally have to come to terms that you have lost 37% of the island forever.

All of it? or just parts? which parts the fact that we are Turkish in origin? or the fact that you will lose 37% of the island forever? or your concern for TCs disappearing? or the fact that we would rather merge with Turkey than live in GC state as a minority?
