We have to consider partition

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Miltiades
You seem to know a great deal of how our people here in Cyprus feel towards each other . Birkibrisly happens to be a T/C and I happen to be a G/C , never met each other and yet we share the same passion , to see our island united and all its people living in peace and harmony. He is my brother and I have the utmost respect for him. Neither he nor I dwell in the past , we both know and regret that some of our people committed atrocious crimes against each other. It was not one sided , both sets of fanatics made our people suffer. We look to the future , we embrace and spread the message of reconciliation respect and empathy. He is not a minority in his country of birth because he is , just as Im , a Cypriot , and neither do I CALL MY SELF PART OF THE MAJORITY , all Cypriots are my bothers and sisters . We are building bridges of trust and spreading the message of respect and understanding amongst our people. What are you spreading mate ??

Miltiades, that is a great post. One that also represents my views on the whole issue. Thank you

VP the RoC policies should be independant of yours. Why allow our policies to stop you from achieving your goal. If you want to part ways from Turkey push for that. I fail to see how the RoC policies are impacting on that. Or is it perhaps that you know as well as I that, at this moment in time Turkey will never go for it. If you wish to part ways you have a couple of options one is to tell Turkey to go, two you ask Turkey to go with the UN stepping up its forces to provide the protection that Turkey is currently offering.

As far as your coments to Miltiades about how Surrey is going, well due to the trnc violation of refugee rights some of us cannot return. Due to imminent threat of war from Turkey some of us who lost people in 1974 are scared shitless to come back to our homeland if it means being conscripted and having to face the same fate as our relatives.

I would love to return to Cyprus and live in a free society and a demilitarised state.

Very silly comment. For the average Cypriot, TC or GC, living in Cyprus is physically safer now than in the 25 years before 1974, and probably safer now than at any time in the last half century.

i told them i m alreaddy a citizen of cyprus how many times i have to be a cypriot

i rang the greek speakign embassy and ashed the same question i said im turkish speaking cypriot and i want to live in the south will they take me into the army

their reply was no becouse you are turkish cypriot

i said im not atruking cypriot or a greek cypriot im just a cypriot even thought i speak one of the language

they went onto point out the zurich agreement to me

i told them i know all about that peeace of paper that that is not worth anything to anyone but the iggnorant and uneducated people

on that note they put the phone down on me

how can we be united when they are constantly deviding us the very people who are supposed to be representing us

that is my question to the forum

observer, I don't think you can under estimate my fears by calling my fears silly. they are just as real are as the expressed TC fear towards GC and the luck of trust TC's express toward the RoC. if their fear is real why then is mone silly?

free ... may be we have allowed them to divide us. if the average Cypriot one by one made the move to their respective properties then the politicians will be forced to act accordingly.
