Ten Terrible Tyrannies of Turkey

1. Armenian Genocide of >1.5M: massacred in 1915-1917 by Young Turks.
2. Pontian Genocide 1920-1923 by Angora Turks - extermination of Minorities in Asia Minor.
3. Destruction and disruption of efforts to improve fledgling Republic of Cyprus 1960-1974.
4. Invasion of Cyprus 1974 by 40,000 Turkish Army, carrying out a litany of war crimes against native Cypriots. Division of the Island as per stated intent 1957
5. Use of fierce Napalm Arson Bombs 1974, and still part of Turkish arsenal, despite prohibition.
6. Continued presence of Turkish Army in Cyprus and prevention of natives from returning to homes in order to fulfil Turkey’s strategic interests.
7. Continual repression of Kurds.
8. Systematic destruction of cultural heritage e.g. flooding of mosaics by Dam at Belkis (and depriving Marsh Arabs of sustenance).
9. Establishment of “insulting Turkishness”, curbing Human Right of Freedom of Speech, and continual practice of covert propaganda.
10. Invention of Donner Kebab!

This is not a comprehensive list by any means just some recent atrocities that add to my mistrust of Turkey.
Please feel free to mention any other tyrannies which you may feel take precedence.

To me they are not a wind-up but an unfortunate yardstick by which I judge the Turkish propaganda I hear espoused around me.

I could have had "Ten Thousand Terrible Tyrannies of Turkey" and I would still have to suspend judgement as to whether that was a wind up or plausible.

Of course as a Turk you are schooled on more effective weapons.

Perhaps if Turkey had stuck to handbags it wouldn't now be one of the most hated countries in the world.
