free_cyprus, not wishing to rely on the quotes of they who made them in days gone by (since they may influence our own judgements) I am here inclined to draw attention to the words of ''Genghis Khan' :-

"Keep well away from those you cannot love for they will awaken hatred in your heart and it will find a home there, forgive small transgressions but wreak a terrible vengeance on any that affront you though it may consume your life".

I think he may well have been a man capable of strong love but possibly considered it a weakness, perhaps casting some light on the 'Macho' characteristics embraced by many of the male gender.

I am not totally in agreement with his principles but can see the purpose of them (particularly relevant to his time and his ambitions).

I do agree with some of the views expressed however and have found them to be most effective.

free_cyprus, I really wish I could share your optimism regarding 'Peace on Earth', there never has been such a time in the past, may I ask what it is that urges you to tender such an opinion ?.

If you base your comment on the hope that mankind will learn from it's mistakes, I would say that history proves exactly the opposite.

If you feel that mankind will condemn violence, I would say that the 'Leaders' will not allow it.

The only route to peace, (in my opinion) is to find it within oneself, the only problem with THAT kind of logic is that the one practicing (or advocating) it, invariably finds themselves targets for ridicule.

Just as you are 'A voice in the wilderness' on account of your views on 'Love', so you will be with your views on 'Peace', the future you envisage is beyond human comprehension.

The Jews crucified the only man who might have saved us, they have since ensured that there can NEVER be peace on earth.

In my humble opinion.

how does one earn love by the good deeds they do

or do they earn it by working hard

or do they earn it by being peacefull

respectfull

i will say this to you i have not met you
you are old as my daughter and i say to you lena i love you as a human being.....................you have done nothign to earn that love because i choose to give you my love im the giver

but if your waiting for me to say lena when you qualify from the univercity then you will earn my love thats not love

free_cyprus, throughout the world there are pockets of humanity which share your views, they are examples of what the world could be and they are a credit to the human race.

I have spent much time among them and imagine that you have also done so (judging by your perceptions).

Unfortunately, they are in the minority and their views are mostly ridiculed for their simplicity.

The nearest the Western advocates of their philosophies can hope to aspire to is through the use of 'Hallucinogenic Substances', most of whom do not even have the intelligence to understand that their euphoria is merely a poor substitute for the reality they attempt to emulate, thus we have a serious problem with 'Drug Addiction'.

I agree with you that the world would be a happier place were we able to adopt the principles you hope for, I am not sure that the aforementioned minorities will gain ascendancy in the future, therefore I cannot share your optimism.

I wish you well and must say I admire your tenacity in stating your views. :)
