If you have a plan to visit any village up in the mountains, go to the coffee shops (kafenedes) where older men sit there ... I am sure if you ask them nicely if they know any "tsiatista" to tell you they will. I am sure that there are lots of books with them (I am not sure if you can read Greek Andrea mou), but dont know about any CDs. For sure there is not place to go to listen any. But I doubt if the men to the coffee shops will not tell you some good one and even "milomena"(dirty ones)

Is easy to make your own as well.

Well thank you, very much kind sir. I will ad this one to my playlist ;) On a more serious note is this a part of Cyprus that has been lost in its evolution? Is it a good thing or a bad thing or indifferent?

If you go up in the mountain a Sunday for souvla after few beers or some bottles of wine you will here lots of them...is not lost...but is not something you will hear in the streets or at the radio.

Lena mou thank you very much, I can read greek. In fact better than speaking it. Perhaps I can get the family to meet @ Platania for souvla and start the tsiatista. Though it would be nice if there were a little taverna that specialised in this form of singing. I am so excited now. The time is getting closer.
