OSMOSIS.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Viewpoint » Sat Sep 15, 2007 3:27 pm

Osmosis= If you say that people influence each other by osmosis, or that skills are gained by osmosis, you mean that this is done gradually and without any obvious effort.

Everyone is playing the word game, the GC idea of unification is that we are just absorbed (osmosis) by the GC "RoC" where as we argue it should be a virgin birth as transition periods are needed to fuse together the federal structure as also put forward by the Annan plan, under which teh TRNC and "RoC" woudl have ceased to exsist and a a new brith would have occured where United Cyprus woudl have been formed. The GCs have always been against a virgin birth and just want to use the "RoC" sponge to do away with the TRNC and soak up the TCs into the current structure. TCs have to decide do they agree witht he idea of being absorbed into the current GC state called the "RoC" which they in fact do not have wait to accept as they can move south tomorrow but it apeears there are not many takers, so osmosis in currrent form can hardly happen if TCs are against this idea.

The application of the acquis communautaire? Characteristics of a European society in Harmony with the rest of the island? In view of these qualifieres Osmosis has the meaning of constant contact and communication, not assimilation. You guys were obviously not very good at high school biology. Effortless in this case means not forced, without pressure. And he already outlined the solution as bizonal and federal in his opening paragraph. In short you are deliberately distorting the meaning.

I am no fan of Pap, but not too happy to be fed propaganda either.

How meaningful is a man`s word for bicommunal bizonal federation when he openly admits his agenda for assimilation? There is no problem that we improve more towards a European society but I see no need that we have to be assimilated/absorbed by a community that tried to annihilate and tries to dominate us.

I cant believe Turkish grown men really believe the shit that they throw out of their mouths. Do they lie to their kids like this with the same approach to make them have their own way? Just spew lies out accordingly.

We are not a minority. And obviously our history and ties with the GCs is different than that of Armenian Cypriots with GCs. I wonder how a Bosnian or an Albanian minority would do under GCs?...

See above.

Jerry wrote:"Oh but what about our security" cry the TCs, well the EU will take care of that.

Like they took care of the Bosnians? Or like they take care of Albanians in Greece ? Or like they helped us out in Cyprus during the 11 years we were locked up like barnyard animals and massacred ?

Jerry wrote:Forget the UN, all of Cyprus could be a thriving mulicultural society with European standards of living and democracy. Look to the future, stop digging up the past.

I hope so. But it requires that the GC community respects our rights and drops their criminal agenda of Hellenizing Cyprus.

18% of the population means a minority to me. 80% of the population means a majority. Where the hell did you go to school, or did they not teach maths?

I really don`t give a sh.. about YOUR personal interpretation of who we are in Cyprus as TCs. Minorities in Cyprus are openly stated and adressed with their ethnic names in the RoC constitution. So are the two communities that signed into the Agreements that made the existence of the RoC possible in the firts place. Check the names that exist in these two places of the RoC constitution and come back again.

The problem is that we have never been able to persuade the TCs to assimilate and be an effective part of the RoC hence the partition we face today. It's your reluctance to integrate that has messed things up and we are having to make huge sacrifices to please the TC's the whole time. You are spoilt and selfish. You need to learn to accept compromise.

No one has ever tried to "dominate" the TCs in the RoC. They had more than their fair share of power. You are just reflecting your current state of unease because you are NOW dominated by Turkey.

When the day comes when the people of N.Cyprus get educated enough to realize what Turkey is holding them back from, is the day when we will have peace on this island. Till then, obviously, they like being pet dogs for them. Just give the TC's a bone and they love them forever, while Turkey is eating fillet-mignons. TC's don't have to fly blind like Turkey is, but whatever is clever for them.

1963 to 1974 was our struggle to defend ourselves against the constant onslaught of TCs wanting partition . . . proof being that they now have what they kept fighting and killing us for during that period.

The huge sacrifices are the resources the TCs still use up, not just utilities, but diplomatic efforts that constantly make them the centre of attention when we should be concentrating on the higher things in life. The TCs are behaving like the disruptive schoolboy that always wants the teacher's attention. Consequently every-ones progress is suspended.
