cyprus tourist board

Postby aidy » Fri Sep 14, 2007 12:07 pm

I saw a post a while ago that had details of the cyprus tourist board, unfortunatly i can't find it again. If any one can forward the details to me i would be grateful.

My friends parents have come out here on a 2 week holiday and are staying in an all inclusive 4* hotel in paphos. It is a disgrace, service is very poor, the room is filthy on their arrival, no fresh towels have been provided since sunday etc.

This really needs reporting. IMHO Tourism is quite low this year and these tend to be the reasons why.

what sort of childish comment is that Halil.

why would it make me a Turkish lover cos a hotel is poor quality. I am from the UK, opting to sit on the fence on that debate, i'm not taking sides, nor do i expect to be judged.

lame comments like that which are in no way relevant and don't do any good

It's all very well to say it is a 4* Hotel and all inclusive and it's in Paphos Aidy, but what did they actually paid for all this. You see, as the saying goes "money talks and bullshit walks" or " you get what you paid for". I'm not making any judgements on what your friends parents paid for their vacation, but when ever I see a "All Inclusive" offer, I tend to run the other way unless it comes highly recommended by the people I know personally.

So, can you get as the price they paid please...Thanks.

Regardless of the cost of their holiday, they have a right to expect their room to be clean, fresh towels to be supplied and the food to be edible. There is a lot of snobbery about "all inclusive" and at the outset, hotels would go under without this option.
Our visit to Cyprus to look for our home,we stayed at "the Eleni Beach" all inclusive and it was fine for a base, but we would have been dissapointed had it been for a holiday. It was clean, basic and clean linen fairly regular. The food was good and staff pleasant, but the "entertainment" was dire! We went next door to the George and paid for drinks just to escape! Cyprus cannot compare with other Med countries in customer service or admitting that they are wrong! The customer is just a b--y nuisance in Cyprus once you have paid your money!!!

beverley10,

I don't want to sound irritating , but very often I hear people complaining about Cyprus accommodation, etc. I wonder why they don't just get out and never come back. On the contrary they end up coming every next year. :?

I find that you get what you pay for, I stayed in a cheap hotel but only used the place to sleep in, it was a 2 star hotel so I knew what to expect and spent most of my time and money at other places.
All inclusive to me means getting the most value for money at the hotel at the expense of missing the point of coming on holiday (to see a place).

2* 4* or whatever. You should have a clean room and linen. If other countries with cheap accomodation can do it why not here??
