Read your sources again re the urban and rural character. Most reliable non-Greek sources put it the other way round, that it was the Turkish Cypriots who were urban and the Greeks rural. Reliable sources in this instance are the British archives, UN documents, US embassy reports on Cyprus in the 60s and some more. You rushed headlong into that one.
As for the Newzealanders who fought in Crete, they come back annually for the memorial service of the Battle of Crete and their testimony stands. What was Turkey doing during World War II when New Zealanders and Greeks and other were fighting the Nazis? Look up your encyclopedias about strategic metals supplies of the Third Reich and where they came from. Without these supples the Nazis would ne be able to build tanks and planes.
You harp on about Greeks and treatment of minorities. There used to be a Greek minority in Istanbul, and the islands of Imvros and Tenedos, numbering a total of 200 000. Today there are less than 2000 left. The Turkish minority in northern Greece grew from 80 000 to near 200 000 in the same time frame. Who is doing what to whom Kiwi?
You getting paid for this crap you post?
