Sorry to hear that Bill but to be honest all my friends that have bank account here in UK they pay too much for using their cards as they say. I dont know much about it because i use my Cypriot card which is the best. Yes as a student I do have lots of benefits. I do not know details about the other cards but my friend and my mum are very leased and lately they got too many benefits because of that card (American express from Bank of Cyprus).

It was just my opinion really.

Well I have a UK credit card that costs absolutely nothing to run but I do pay in full at the end of the month.

With the obvious exception of sending money to Cyprus my UK bank accounts also cost absolutely nothing to run what ever transactions I make ~ it's called free banking ~ a simple concept that hasn't yet hit the greedy Cyprus banks~ There are no charges what so ever .

I'm at the moment trying to stop the BOC from sending me a paper statement every month for one particular account ~ something that I have to pay for every time they send one ~ it's pointless because I can find out by other means ~ every time I ask them not to send a statement they say OK ~ then another one appears the next month
