If the mediocre lifestyle of the average American citizen is that "freedom" some of you often boast; that is causing the death and destruction to incalculable others around the world, then I piss on both your "country" and "freedom" because it’s not even worth a single bullet being fired!

Professor, If you equate lifestyles to freedom...I welcome the "golden shower" :D I'd rather be pissed on than be imprisoned. :D Let the shower begin

You have every right to espouse your misguided beliefs, albeit if you lived in the "Axis of Evil" as Kurepetos states, they would send you to prison for your beliefs. In America we have freedom of religion, speech and the pursuit of happiness...yeah that's right...we have an right to happiness :o
Yeah Baby!!!!

American stupidity prevails again  Instead of attacking other people you could make some research on your country's crimes and mistakes and try to improve it. The only freedom you have is the freedom to be stupid  Your country has a long way until it comes in the level of freedom and democracy that Europe has, and right know it's moving backwards with idiotic presidents like G. Bush.

I'll take freedom to be "stupid" over no freedom at all. My countries crimes :? and mistakes, ofcourse we have made mistakes and I'll be the first one to admit it...but if you want to live your life as you like with no repurcussions, the U.S. is the place. Bush is an idiot and we have made the world a more dangerous place through a misguided policy, but we also have made the world a safer place to live in, through the blood of our brave military. The U.S. military has paid in blood for your freedom...you can say what you want when you want to...thank to the U.S. :!:

Is that why the number of American tourists abroad has plummeted? There are terrorist threats everywhere. You call tthat safe? It might be safe in the states but not the rest of the world. You have turned the whole world into a war zone.

As to the bravery of the ordinary Yankee soldier , I can say nothing, poor sods. But Carpet Bombing targets from miles up or shelling targets using your battleships, that is not bravery.

Interesting to note that you propose the 'Native American Indian' as first among your selection in determining just what a 'Real American' IS.

Would it not have been more appropriate to have excluded that race and proposed them as what a 'Real American' WAS ?.

I am sure you are aware of the manner in which that noble race was systematically slaughtered (almost to the point of extinction) by your forebears, the manner in which their lands were stolen from them by superior force of arms, underhandedness, invasion and occupation, coupled with the obligatory measure of lies and deceit of course.

Hmmm!, seems to ring a bell somehow.

Do you realize that 85% (or thereabouts) of the entire population were slaughtered ?, I would have thought that the omission of THAT particular race would have been a wiser choice in establishing the identity of your 'Real American'.

'Bury my heart at wounded knee' by Dee Brown, is a book I would recommend to all members interested enough to discover how 'Real Americans' were spawned.

I read the Wounded Knee years ago. Indeed, it was so unbelievable. All committed by Europeans. So called civilisation, damn it. Sorry.

My esteemed lecturer...the threat of terrorism all over the world is not the result of the Iraqi debacle. Terrorism has been around a long time before Iraq. "Poor Sods", I agree. The only time the U.S. carpet bombed Iraq was during the 1st few days of the war...while I don't condone the killing of innocent civilians...war is hell. We have over 170,000 troops on the ground...we have not used a battle ship to inflict carnage since the start. As an educated person...do you not remember terrorism before the Iraq war...I can attest to at least 10 incidents in Cyprus alone before 1990.

Not all Americans voted for GWB the second time ... or the first time for that matter.
Now, let's dispense the hasty generalizations. :)

When those high school drop-outs, turned "soldiers", and subsequently proven cowards; for attacking a defenseless 3rd world country, you call the US military embarked on their death and destruction campaign in Iraq did any of them ask each and every Iraqi citizen if they agreed and/or supported one issue or another before bombing them to smithereens? I don't think so!

So do you really think it's important that you point out that some of you "may" not go along with "everything" the US does even though you pay taxes and thus fund such atrocities?

What EXACTLY is the point of this stupid thread? Are you patronizing the Iraqi people?

Get Real!, in another thread Paliometoxo asked if all Americans hate Muslims. I replied. Then I thought further about the numerous illogical generalizations about Americans and their politics that I've read about on this forum. Consequently, I thought I might pre-empt any further such questions and hasty generalizations with this stupid (you are very perceptive) thread. Question, by the way: Why did you respond to this stupid thread? Please note that in both cases I did not place quotes around the word stupid.

With regard to my tax payments funding military missions, I clearly appreciate the fundamental democratic tenet "majority rule, minority rights." Do you (or are you one of those who secretly desires to exterminate the Turks and other minorities from Cyprus)?

I think GR and Eliko would support any anti-american cause until it directly affected them, then watch the worm turn.

Thank you for your response.
My references were not limited to the Iraqi wars. I was referring to the Lebanese/ Palestinian war as well, when USA battleships were shelling 'Palestinian' camps from the sea (USS New Jersey). The reference was to the 'bravery' comment of the Americans. These did not help put out terrorist activities, but on the contrary, they created more.
