Bayrak

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Piratis » Tue Sep 18, 2007 4:43 am

Expatkiwi, you are missing the point of this thread.

Bayrak can say whatever they want to say, and people are free to go to their website and read it. Is that democratic enough?

If not, then let me know if I am allowed to go and publish my articles at Bayrak.

you can write your coments , every article puplished at web side , has got a place to write comments.

The establishment of BRT dates back to the events of December 1963 when intercommunal violence between the Greek and Turkish communities effectively ended co-operative ventures. Until that time, the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC) had been jointly run by Turkish and Greek Cypriots. Therefore, in the eyes of the Turkish community, it became urgent for them to have their own radio station as the Greek Cypriots had taken over the CyBC, forcing out the Turkish Cypriot empoloyees in the process.

Bayrak Radio was established on December 25, 1963 to voice the cause of the Turkish Cypriot people following its exclusion from CyBC, and the Cypriot Government.

You guys are refusing to listen to Piratis' logic...He is not saying Bayrak should be banned...He is saying any articles copied from Bayrak should only be posted if the poster wants to discuss a specific point...And he is right...

When I see copy/paste articles, from whatever source,i just skip them, unless the poster catches my attention with his/her comments...

Our time is too limited to be bombarded with obviously one-sided articles that serve no purpose except propaganda,no matter which side they come from...Let us respect each others time and sensibilities...Please.. 8)

İ will add my comments as well ,dear birkıbrıslı. Still they will complain.

you didn't get their point as well . anything against their ideas have to be banned. i am reading some comments from expati and they are calling to administrator to ban him as well. i hope one day we can meet in Cyprus and talk face to face and we can understand each other better.
to understand some arguments u must live in here and talk with the people and share their worries and hopes . by reading from news papers or getting information from limitted sources does not help.
due to my job i travel a lot , we are getting same accusations , that we are illegal , when we explain them , why and when we were separated . they are getting shock . how we were equal partner at ROC and what happened at 1964 and upto 1974 how we were living ? at 1974 what was the reasones that the Turkish army came to Cyprus. from than to present time .how we wanted for unification and said Yes to Annan Plan and so on .When we start to talk in the conference rooms delegations from Greece and ROC always leaving the meeting rooms. Since 2004 i am going there , they don't listen them at all.
in every platform they are trying to shut our mouths to talk. few munites ago i saw on the forum paste/copy article send by Humanist. This is not propaganda , when we do it , it is always propaganda. i will tell always truths . they are is a plant forums my friend .

What he copy/pastes are his opinions why are you trying to shut him up, if you do not want to read his posts you have the freedom to bypass them whats the big deal...the GCs are up to their old tricks in trying to shut the TCs and you Bir are supporting them, you must feel proud well done.

I think you have mistaken my point, halil kardash.
Freedom of speech is a basic human right. And I am all for it.
I feel that on a discussion forum like this,it is more appropriate to quote the bit you want to discuss, give the link, and let people decide if they want to go and read the whole article. Those who are interested will do that. And they will then be informed about what they want to discuss. The word "propaganda" is too easily thrown about on this forum. Usually it means anything that one does not want to hear...One should take the time to make the distinction. There is "propaganda",which is putting the best spin on a story or event to make your side look whiter than white..And there are honestly held opinions...By its nature,Bayrak falls into the propaganda area of human communications. So perhaps you can find some other source of information to discuss on this forum...You will find people would be more tolerant to your copy/paste exercises...

No,VP...If you copy and paste an article written by someone else, you can't say they are your opinions...The best you can say is you agree with the opinions expressed in that article...As I said above, discussion board decorum dictates that you do not bombard people with long articles copied from other sources. You quote the bit you want to discuss, and give the link for people to visit if they so chose...Has anyone told you are a very suspicious person???Come on..try to think of one thing the GCs can do which does not involve shutting up the TCs...It might relieve you from some of your paranoia... 8)

The place of the comment is at the bottom of each article and it also states: "Your comment will be posted after approval by administrator."

Where did I ever say that you have to be banned? What I say is that this is a discussion forum, not a news agency. You can publish your news at your bayrak website, here is a different place, it is a place to say your opinion and debate with others, not just to re-publish the same propaganda that you have already published at bayrak.

Reality and the past forces you to think this way, you have to cover all the bases to ensure you are not left out in the cold or stabbed in the back.
