My daughter Nikki, a year two student of The Heritage School in Limassol, is selling her paintings online for the charity “Cans For Kids”. Which was established in 1990. She's asked me to help too.
“Cans For Kids” encourages the recycling of aluminium cans in Cyprus. Not only that, but they donate the proceeds to the Makarios Hospital in Nicosia, which is the central paediatric hospital in Cyprus treating seriously ill children from all over the island.
Nikki learned of this good cause from one of her classmates. She now not only collects empty cans from everywhere, but is also trying to raise money by selling her own made paintings online. Her first painting “Scary Mermaid” was sold for 20 Cyprus Pounds through www.bazaraki.com.
Bazaraki is a free online classifieds ads website where everyone can sell their new and used goods or services. The website has been online for two months and is in Greek and English. Bazaraki doesn't charge commission and you don't need to register to place an ad. Many perfectly good items have already found a new home.
This caring little girl, who “doesn't want children to die”, is now selling her second painting, “The Colourful Castle” online. Once again all proceeds from the sale are going to “Cans For Kids” (www.cansforkids.org) and the paintings can be viewed on www.bazaraki.com under the section “Antiques & Art”.
