GorillaGal, lovely pictures. I wonder what Baghdad looked like the week-end prior to the unlawful bombardment, the infamous 'Shock and Awe' tactics perpetrated by your nation?.

We should concern ourselves with the 'Causes' of the events (if we are to make reference to these comparisons) rather than the 'Result' of them.

There must be a 'Reason' for 9/11 (whether conspiracy or otherwise) or do you subscribe to the notion that those acts were simply committed for nothing ?.

The retaliatory actions of the Western powers have been PROVEN to be unlawful and unjustified, therefore we should be viewing pictures of the resultant destruction rather than those depicting things as they were.

I think the above comments are 'Factual' and do not in any way deserve to be interpreted as a statement of 'Hatred' for the West.

In my humble opinion.

I too have remembered all those who lost their lives, not just in the USA but the countless others in the revenge attacks which are still going on and on and on.

I would also say that I don't think building a war ship from the wreckage is a fitting memorial to those who died, but just shows the frightening mentality of so called civilised people...........

tessintrnc, I am so pleased to note that you describe the actions in Iraq as 'Revenge Attacks', for that is most certainly a more apt description of what has taken place than 'WAR' is.

The actions of the US and others, do not warrant the distinction of being referred to as 'WAR' since there was no declaration of it, rather, the actions were condemned by most of the civilized nations of the world from the outset.

The threats of aggression PRIOR to the unlawful attack/invasion/occupation were also discouraged by those nations.

It suits the political leaders to use the term 'WAR' since it conjures up images of opposing forces struggling to advance a just cause.

The shambles in Iraq now illustrate quite the opposite and the people of the world know it.

It will be interesting to see just how the political leaders will extricate themselves from the hopeless position they have placed themselves in, already they are hard at work in trying to shift the burden of responsibility on to the shoulders of the very people they initially condemned.

Have you noticed that there seems to be a distinct lack of media information recently?, I wonder if the reason for that could be connected to the imminent elections, or are we to believe that peace has suddenly found it's feet in that troubled land. :?:

why don't you put your "revenge attacks" thoughts in anotehr thread bashing americans? this thread was about the thousands who lost theor lives on 9-11-01. let us keep it scared and about that. what you are doing is kicking someone when they are down. do you go to funerals of friends and family and say things like : "oh well, they were old, it was bound to happen, get over it," or "yeah, that person did alot of rotton nasty things in thier lives. remember when they did this or that?" let this be the tribute it was meant to be when the thread was started.

A fitting tribute I think.

the USS NEW YORK
NEVER FORGET!

Hmmmm............. Never forget?? Whats that "thought" a warning?? GG I dont think this WAR ship is a fitting tribute to those who died - making a floating ATTACKvessell out of the wreckage is sick in my opinion. I DO think that it was a sad day for the world when the twin towers were attacked and I wish fervently that those people hadn't died. I also wish fervently that this never happens again - ANYWHERE. I also wish fervently - and pray that ALL the killing stops - PERIOD.
