UNFICYP's website shows no e-mail or mailing address. Why??

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

UNFICYP has a great website... except no page for "Contacting Us." See for yourself - http://www.unficyp.org

Why don't they show an e-mail address or a mailing address where the general public can write in with suggestions? It's almost as if they don't want to be contacted. Even their "feedback" page listed at the bottom of their site doesn't work.

It's probably for security reasons. The Pentagon just put an phone book with no email addresses, just telephone numbers with no names?

It's perfectly safe to have a general e-mailbox without an e-mail address listed. It's usually called a "mailbag" or "feedback box," with a format designed like this page (scroll down to mailbag) - http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/w ... index.html

People can write in and make themselves heard without knowing the recipient's e-mail address (or telephone number or mailing address). They could also have a guestbook where messages could be left. What's the harm or security threat in that? Considering all of the money that is being paid to cover their expenses, you would think that they would publicise more communication channels with the general public, who might have some good ideas that the traditional channels (upper leadership on the two sides) are lacking. Frustrating...

They obviously feel that they do not need any suggestions from the general public, after all, they ARE doing a magnificent job in keeping the peace, where would we be without them?.

They are doing a good job in keeping the peace of course, but part of their responsibility is looking for a way for the peace to be kept after they have left. They won't be in Cyprus for eternity.

You really think so? How many clashes were they able to prevent before 1974 and how many clashes were there to prevent after 1974?

Why would they want the public's feedback? They get their orders from the UN and they just get on with that.

There is a basic reason.
The UN here do not simply do "peace keeping job".
They are involved in the politics for solving the Cyprob, in fact Moller is doing ONLY that.
They have responsibility towards the Cypriot people which they seem to ignore.

There have been negotiations based on the 8th July agreement, and the UN FAILED TO INFORM THE CYPRIOT PEOPLE which is the side who really stalled the peace process.

If the UN continue having such a neutral stance they are actually helping the side that does not want a solution.

"Are" = present tense verb. Note that I did not say "have been." I was simply referring to the present moment.

They wouldn't get that many, and it might be worth it to have someone available to do this.
