CLOSE THE GATES!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Do you agree with Pantelis' assertion that pre-April 2003 Green Line restrictions should be re-imposed?

It is estimated to be around 400,000. All males and females from 18-60 y.o. what else would you like to know?

Uh-huh! That's not what you said. What you said was 'how many homes have guns in them given to them by the military on completion of national service in the south and have the same feelings as Piratis.'
The answer is obviously not 'all GCs who complete their national service each year times by 30'. This is absurd. My point is that you don't know the answer to the question you asked, as neither do I.
But it's at least unfair to claim that all (or even the majority of) GCs are evil bastards who want to suck your blood, put bullets through your head and sell your VCRs in the black market. It's a ridiculous claim (as a GC that knows the GC community better than you, I feel that I'm entitled to this characterization concerning not you, but the notion you put forth). You can't base partition on this. Look elsewhere.

Viewpoint, in 1974 a war started. Do you know that this war is not over yet? Do you know that currently we do not have peace but a cease fire?

Now we are talking for 30 years, and we can talk for 30 more on how to reach peace. For that to happen the occupation of our country has to end.

If it doesn't end, when the balance of power will shift, it is inevitable that this war will continue. Do you know any country under occupation that will exclude using military power to reclaim its own land?

Do you expect us to say "Ok, just take our land as a gift"? This will never happen.

We are currently at a "cold" war, and in this war we are kept away from our homes, you get the isolation, and Turkey is going to get the boot from EU. At some point this war might become "hot" again. Nothing is over yet.

We exist on this island for 3500 years. Do you really thing you can permanently take it away from us in just 30,40,50,60 years? This will not happen. Take it our of your mind.

It is either we live together in the whole island as equal citizens with full human rights for everybody (my preference), or we will fight each other until one of us is exterminated.

And then Matsakis, the sole survivor, (because all through the war he will have been hiding in the Akamas area) will be responsible for preserving the Cypriot nation.

Wow real large number, more than half your population, alarming, do you think we should get guns as well?? only to be used against you if a war should start, like Piratis is predicting, I to want to protect my family.

magikthrill
If I am scared that say a black person or any minority here in the US will shoot me just because they are black and according to statistics black people have been invovled in more crimes than white people I can't just go and request a gate around my entire neighbourhood.

But if you are aware that 400.000 GCs have guns in their homes what do you do? and that they could be used by crazed GC seeking vengence, how would you feel??? like going down the pub for a drink with him I dont think so somehow. You would try to avoid him like the plague.

Here in Northern Cyprus we call people like this fanatics and very dangerous "should be avoided at all costs" .

Saint if I knew the answer I wouldnt ask the question.
Dont you have men who complete their national service every year??? or do the finish in bulk every so many years??
We have the answer now supplied by Kifeas which is 400.000 people wise. But we can never guage how many of them think like Piratis, that makes the situation even more alarming for us.

Piratis
Do you know that this war is not over yet?

Its been over for us for many years, but you can see as you wish.

If it doesn't end, when the balance of power will shift, it is inevitable that this war will continue.

We can do nothing but wait for our fate.

Do you expect us to say "Ok, just take our land as a gift"? This will never happen.

We tried to give you back some of your land but you said no we want more, we will get it via EU.

These statements are clear evidence of why reunification wont work.
