LOL Richard...he is going to teach those young people the feck theory....do you think that they will hire me or they need a true Cypriot for that job? :wink:

CIIM: MSc Educational Leadership and Management

Effective management and leadership of educational institutions and programmes are critical to the achievement of their educational mission and the efficient use of scarce educational resources. In Cyprus, the region, and around the world, there is a growing demand for professional educational leaders and managers that possess both the educational and managerial skills and talents to lead and to manage schools at all levels for superior performance in the highly competitive and technologically rapidly advancing 21st century.

Aim

The Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Management is aimed at:

-Leaders and managers (and would-be leaders and managers) of schools, colleges, universities and other educational and training institutions
-Those who work in ministries of education and influence educational policies
-Individuals who aspire to enter the educational profession by establishing their own private schools.

Objectives

-to explain and analyse the underlying concepts and principles associated with educational leadership and management
-to introduce and develop techniques and skills in effective teaching and classroom management
-to analyse different approaches to solving problems in the area of educational leadership and management
-to help participants develop skills to demonstrate intellectual interdependence, analytic rigour and the ability to understand and evaluate new knowledge and ideas
-to assist students to apply the research methods and techniques that they have learned
-to present, evaluate, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data
to demonstrate effective communication skills, arguments and analyses in a variety of forms
-to make participants aware of the ethical issues related to educational leadership and appreciate the importance of lifelong learning

Duration

The MSc programme is normally pursued either on a 1-year full-time basis or a 2-year part time basis of evening/weekend class attendance. Full-time students will be allowed a maximum of 1 year from the date of enrolment to complete their studies while part-time students will be allowed a maximum of 2 years from the date of enrolment.

Language of Programme -> English


Teaching Method

Sessions will combine:

Lectures
Case studies
Business simulations
Work in small groups
Group presentations
Guest speakers
Field visits


Fees

Application fees: CY£30 (€50)
Registration fees: CY£500 (€1000)
Tuition Fees: CY£4,500 (€8000)

Admission Requirements:
1. A Bachelor degree from an accredited university or college or an equivalent professional qualification.
2. Proficiency in the English language evidenced by graduation from an English language institution, or satisfactory score in TOEFL (not less than 550) or equivalent standardised language examination.


A personal interview is an integral part of the selection process. The interview and certificates providing evidence of the above qualifications are used as a basis for evaluating candidates. In cases where applicants have graduated from unfamiliar programmes or universities, a GRE/GMAT examination score may be required.

A graduate of the MSc in Educational Leadership and Management will acquire specialised skills and competencies that will enable them to pursue positions in the following fields:
