maddy's mum now a suspect?

Postby tessintrnc » Fri Sep 07, 2007 1:40 pm

Just seen on the news that Mum is now a suspect in the disappearance of little maddy. I am shocked - I was one of the people who never believed that she or husband were involved! :(

I think we all need to tread carefully on this one. The legal system in Portugal is entirely different than here (or in the UK) and being named as a suspect (Arguida in Portuguese) merely allows the police to ask further questions, and for the parents to have legal representation present when being questioned. It does not necessarily signify an implication of direct involvement. Innocent until proven guilty remember? And let's not forget that a little girl is still missing.

I’m somewhat surprised by your response!

I think it's really cruel to speculate on such an emotive subject. I'm sure the police are just doing their duty in being thorough.

The parents still deserve our support and sympathy at this stage.
