No. "Jesus wept." (Shortest sentence in the Bible, don't you know)

A semi fictional man with biblical exaggerations about what he actually did. I do not think that you can ever be sure of the answer my friend.

Free Cyprus,
More seriously, if you look at the four books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John - which are heavily and significantly contradictory and inconsistent in their often cursory accounts of Jesus' life - there are no direct references to him either reading or writing. Preach he certainly did : read ? No. Write ? No. All the gospels were written well after his death, I think that Matthew (even assuming it was by a single author) was said to be written some 30 or so years after his death, so all rely on second-hand hearsay.

I haven't got my King James' with me - a beautiful piece of literature to this convinced atheist - so, literally, can't check out chapter and verse, sorry.

Probably not. Or rather the life and deeds ascribed to Jesus is most probably composite and/or apocryphal.

But to your 'who cares ?' question, Turkish_Cypriot, obviously millions do, however misguided and mistaken one might think them to be.
