GC Efforts to Point Attentions on Turkish Army

Cyprus to brief EU about US weapons in occupied areas

24/02/2005

The Cyprus Republic will brief its European partners about the transfer of American-made weaponry from Turkey to the occupied areas of the island, over the past few days.

Defence Minister Kyriacos Mavronicolas has condemned the new Turkish provocations, which he described as contrary to efforts towards an early solution of the Cyprus problem. He noted that these actions aim at strengthening Turkey's military presence in the occupied areas but they also increase tension along the ceasefire line.

Provocation is the allegations made by GC administartion. They are not only trying to point attentions upon Turkish army but also trying to consternate GCs not to go North Cyprus, spend money and improve their relations.

Another remarkable point of this action is the timing of the allegations made by GC administartion. Oddly enough, these allegations have been brought forward by GC administration just before the voting process of the financial aid and direct trade regulations in EP.

The Russians are having a redlight special /closing down sale on Uranium selling it to Iran and so forth. Maybe Turkey should buy some U 238 so they can make some Nukes.

Call the Russian Embassy Now. Stocks are limited.

Insan,
Why don't you join the Turkish army? It's not too late, is it?

Why don't you try and comment on the thread in hand and not thrown personal taunts around?

Do you believe that Turkey is puprosely and provocativly ugrading it's military presence and power in Cyprus in reality or that this is just a 'smokescreen' thrown up by GC politicans intent on maintaining the status quo and trying to divert and confuse international opinion?

Turkey is simply upgrading the military machine, before they withdraw a few 1000 troops, for publicity reasons.

Propaganda games and "war for best impressions" are played by both sides. The result is a big nothing, for Cyprus.

Also, Erol, Insan does not need an attorney. What I said to him, was an inside joke!

Well maybe the best place for private (inside) jokes is via a private message and not a public one? Might avoid any confusion then.
