WHAT IS REAL EDUCATION??????????

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Postby CopperLine » Mon Sep 03, 2007 10:03 pm

'Real' education should be about opening up and opening out to allow the flourishing of the human spirit.

Most education actually comes in the form of training which is about closing down and closing in to carry out a prescribed function. Whilst training is undeniably necessary, to mistake it for education is to kill the wonderment of the human spirit.

It is for these reasons, amongst others, that schools are amongst the worst environments in which to become educated. Schools train, they don't inspire.

you have no idea what the hell im talking about when i speak of education. edison like somany other visionaries understood what real education is, something you dont understand by what you are saying. im talking about completely difrent thing to what your talking about and your sooo far of the mark i would say you ended up in wilderness

Think so? Edison was concerned with the here and now: "I have work to do, it's dark, and I can't see what the hell I'm doing." He was a creative problem solver. How does that make him a visionary? He created the product. Those who picked up where he left off, who took it and ran with it, who could foresee illuminating the countryside, are the visionaries.

The revolution happened over 200 years ago. Get over it. :D

And now look at your demise! Al Gore, George Bush, the Beach Boys...

Oh ya, well, you still pay taxes to "the Sovereign." And never, ever, take the Beach Boys' name in vain!

CopperLine seems like the sort of person who would come across a cucumber and ponder if it’s really green.
