Eurovision Song Contest 2005

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Eurovision Song Contest 2005

Postby Viewpoint » Fri Feb 25, 2005 9:37 am

Its the 50th Competition this year in Kiev.

Music should not be political, it should be used to unite people and it appears we have yet again missed the opportunity to do this.

What does everyone think about sending a GC and TC singer to represent Cyprus, they could sing in English.

Why wasnt the competition open to applications from both sides? although the public voting system would probably not give any probability to a TC singer being chosen.

When CYBC chose the current GC singer did they consider and TC singers?

Why has there never been a TC singer in any of the entries for Cyprus since Cyprus starting competing.

The ultimate show of music uniting peoples would have been a joint effort in Istanbul 2004.

All they want is to make us acknowledge "RoC"(In its present form) one and only representative of whole Island. Guess the consequences.

It all seems so stupid
It makes me want to give up
But why should I give up
When it all seems so stupid

Standing in line
The blind lead the blind
Waiting and Waiting for an overdue sign
Brothers and sisters
Play Chinese whispers
If things are suited they won't get diluted

There's one more dead
With a hole in his head
He shouldn't have said
All the things he said
Many tears were shed
For the blood he bled
Something we've blown along the way
Everybody's waiting for judgment day

b) Our first objective was our endeavour to be vindicated as the Greek majority and to create the impression that:

(v) That the strong element on which foreign states ought to rely is the Greek majority and not the Turkish Cypriots.

"RoC" like TC administration are both de-facto results of Akritas Plan.

Apparently someone has already been selected to represent Cyprus (for the 3rd time...)

Either in English or in mixed Greek-Turkish is fine with me and I would be very glad to see this happening. It would also be very nice to lose in Eurovision as we always do together with the TCs!!

I don't know why it did not happen, I just guess that no TC band expressed interest. Do you have any information about this matter, I mean did any TC group or mixed TC-GC group participate to the competition?

Does it matter if the song is sung in Greek or Turkish? It now seems that the songs are mainly sung in English!

Who cares anyway? Its an irrelevant competition. In the UK it is derided!
