Canadians in Cyprus

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

I don't think calling residents Cypriot is a problem, shortening it to CYPS as some ex pats do would be insulting.

Much like calling Canadians - American, although the accent is softer and you guys are not as loud.

I have not been back to Canada for a while, however one of my school teachers came from Vancouver, and during the first Gulf conflict we had the 1st Canadian Field Hospital attached to our Hospital in Jubail, we gave them the nickname of Eager Beavers, as they had T shirts printed with there logo and said animal on the front.

Give me a shout when you arrive if you like.

Ah yes, our maple syrup is yummy. I could bring you some of the best! I think the thing I will miss the most is Tim Horton's, and only another Canadian will know what I'm talking about.

Thanks for the tips..:)

Oh yeah, the fierce beaver! We also have a loon on our dollar and a moose on our quarter. No wonder no one's scared of Canada. :)

Thanks Paramed, I may take you up on that. It will certainly be an adventure.

you'll like the beer, eh. Try KEO, ice cold, ( and I like Carlsberg) with with a tall glass of ice water, a Greek or Turkish coffee, and a little bottle of ouzo also ice cold, on the side. It goes well with the Mezze that is served, by roadside cafes and tavernas.

Having recently spent 9 days in Saskatoon I feel obliged to answer your post MapleLeaf on account of the excellent impression I got from Canada and above all its people. I am sure you will have a good time in Cyprus because Cypriots are quite hospitable in general and you will appreciate the weater too, I am sure.

Bananiot, I'm happy to hear that your stay in Saskatoon was a positive one. The Prairies are very friendly. Thanks for your input.

No really a beer drinker myself, and quite frankly don't know what all the fuss is about with Canadian beer, but hey, whatever turns you on :)

No fuss from us about the local brew, we could not decide whether it was, CATS-GNATS-RATS ----- p---

The Choice was either Large Jug or Small Jug at the Assinioboy, Medicine Hat nicknamed the Sin Bin.

The shorts had so much ice there was no taste either.
