IS FEDERATION THE CORRECT SOLUTION?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I think I know what you're trying to say. . .

It's like when you listen to a nightingale singing, and then you hear a cuckoo make a completely different sound....

. . . and yet they are both birds. :)

P.S. Thanks to Viewpoint for the inspiration.

Turkish Cypriot

You make perfect sense to me. You are as different from mainlander as I am, yet we are different between us.

Maybe some people should describe the ways we each differ from our mainlanders. You remind me of one night in London when a bunch of us, Greek and Turkish Cypriots, had a great laugh imitating accents and sounds of mainlanders.

And we share a sense of humor that is lost on mainlanders.

We can theorise for ever, but......

Papad. won't negotiate changes to the Annan Plan-Ankara won't discuss anything but the Annan Plan and Talat does what he is told to do by Ankara or else...
What a mess and how do we get out of it?

Getting rid of Papad. in February will be at least a good start but only a start unless Turkey decides it is ready to compromise as well.

Could you clarify how that exactly is? does sharing power equally mean your freedom is impaired or is your only goal is to have total power over my community?

It seems that the GCs goal is to reduce the TCs into a minority! The currents ROC provisions says clearly about a TC Vice President , Turksih an official langiage of the republic along with the Greek language. Also % of TCs members in govrenment bodies and Parliament.
