Linking of EU regulations for Cyprus avoided

Brussels, Feb 24 (CNA) - The urgent simultaneous approval of two proposed regulations, namely those to finance the Turkish Cypriots and direct trade with the Turkish occupied areas of Cyprus, did not pass from the European Parliament today.
The linking of the two pending regulations was proposed in an amendment by Liberal MEP Andrew Duff and was rejected by 254 votes to 250.

why is it that only the CNA has posted this? i haven't been able to find it anywhere else. it seems like a big deal, no?
