Just visited Cyprus and hadn't realised it was a holiday week. We knew Assumption Day was on the Wed 15 Aug and that it was a public holiday but didn't realise many businesses closed for the whole week.
We are buying a small property in Paphos and taking delivery at the end of March 2008. We will be sorting out utilities and furnishings and see that there is a public holiday on Tues 1 April (Greek Cypriot Independence Day). Does anyone know if this is a single bank holiday or whether it would affect businesses for the whole week? We don't want to come out and find the end of March/ beginning of April is not a time to be able to carry out necessary dealings.
Would be very grateful if anyone can help me on this. Many thanks.
