I'm a professional photographic retoucher and there are things you can look for in a photograph's channels that will betray it as being a fake or not. I'd love to see the original, as I could quickly tell you whether this is a fake or not, but looking at this image I would say it is almost certainly not. Or if it is a shop job it is a very, very good one.

naaah, thats an easy one because of the blue background on both images. It almost acts as a "blue screen" making the blending really easy. Add a bit of blur and some quick color adjustment and you are done ;)

True, but switch to Lab colour and you'll see the fringes all too easily. The variation in pixelation will also still be evident – and that shark is not THAT blurred.

Just search for shark in Google images. It is on the first page ;)
