The change that needs to be made is to treat people over 12 as adults. If somebody that is 14 commits a crime he should be treated in the same way that somebody that is 19 but also in the case of the 14 year old punish his parents also!

I agree - but give parents a fighting chance to deal with their kids. These days, any time someone hears yelling, they call the police. Spanking? Oh, the poor little angel! Parents have their hands tied behind their backs.

How about mobile electric chairs? You hire a beautician to shave their ankles in a van, hook 'em up to the battery, rev the engine high and ZAPPO!

It gets rid of all that pesky red tape (like trials, lawyers, judges, human rights, appeals and all that crap). It also gives new meaning to the phrase "when the van is a-rockin', don't come-a-knockin'...

Clean out the van and move on to the next "customer..."

This is such an English thing, people elsewhere do not get the full meaning of yobbery, that grown people are afraid to be around teenagers because of possible violence and almost certain insulting behavior.

SOmeone mentioned curfew by 10 pm. it made me think of Greek daily life when children, sometimes pre teen, are still outside the home, going to or from extra lessons. It shows that your indoor way of life in the UK allows the yobs to claim the outdoors while the law abiding cower inside. Reclaim your cities if you dare!.

Also your legal system places all the risks on the law abiding, not the lawbreaker, god forbid that you shoule ever defend yourself if you fall victim of a crime! With all that going on naturally you get yobbery.

It is embarassing to sit in some resorts in Greece and see young English people paralytic drunk before noon. Some might blame the liberal drinking hours and drink purchase law, but then why dont young Greeks and other tourists get plastered to oblivion?
