They are mostly shit.

It is staffed by family members, who couldn't give a toss, who are not accountable to anyone, who are not result orientated and are basically F rude to everyone unless you are a relative.

Not to mention having to wait months or even years for simple actions to take place.

My god they couldn't process a simple application of any kind if it came down and hit them on the head.

Otherwise, cyprus is well on the road to being fully developed, hopefully the government will follow suit.

I love it here, otherwise.

IMHO

So true... and so sad...

cyprus has only been developed properly in the last 50 years, personaly speaking i wish they left cyprus as it was, undeveloped, and i wish the cypriots would develop their brains soo that we can all be clear about our identity.but unfortunatly they will take a few thousand more years, to get to that stage of human development when it comes to cyprus and cypriot thinking

Don`t be so pesimistic. :)
I think it will take about 10-15 years, until cypriots realise that they are not god given and that they will have to start to work seriously in order to catch up with the rest of Europe. Beeing a part of Europe is a privilege.

cyprus will not catch up with anything we can have a cyprus that the buildings can be fantastic and it might even suprpass most european countries, but the mentality and ignorance of though they have regarding their identity, will need a few ore thousand years to catch up,

Big factors in determining "3rd world," "developing," or "developed" include the stability of the government, the population growth, the rate of disease, the poverty rate, and most telling, the literacy rate. The current literacy rate in Cyprus is somewhere around 97%. Here's an interesting site:

free_cyprus, I think you are responding here to a question I asked you in another thread ("Is the Federation the Correct Solution?"). Nevertheless, you still haven't answered it, so I'll ask again: what do you mean by a "real" education (as opposed to a university education)?

So real education is defined as the acquisition of the audacious distinction empowering one to categorise 99 % of Cypriots as ignoramus !!!
Lucky you mate !!
