Its always 3rd party erolz what do you expect for 10 pounds, it only meets the cost of the other car. These people who bitch about everything eg roads insurance toilet paper etc etc are better off staying on their own side, we dont want people like this in the TRNC.

Notice however there is a huge difference between the 2 insurances. The TC insurance is a basic 3rd party insurance that only covers injuries, and even for those the amount is limited. The GC insurance on the other hand, covers also material damage as well as unlimited amounts for injuries.

My insurance for the South , purchased at the border clearly states (in english) that cover is third party only and it costs the same as 3rd party cover in the north bought at the border as I understand it.

The minimum Insurance at the RoC controlled areas is 3rd party and 3rd party to the FULL EXTEND IT IS.

The insurance the TCs issue at the borders for CYP10, for driving in the occupied is BASIC 3rd party (NOT FULL 3rd PARTY COVERAGE), in that it covers basic third party claims.

Don't you remember what happened to the poor kid who crashed the very second day with a Mercedes and they told him he had to pay everything from his pocket?

Furthermore like I said before the TCs charge us CYP10 for an insurance that annually osts only 45.
The GCs charge the same price but that's for an insurance that anually costs CYP130.

Those charges that provide cover for just one day are extremely high, but then again look who thought he could milk the GCs out, by increasing the price of a ridiculous insurance from 4 pounds to 10 in just 3 years.

I have attached a scan of the insurance document i was given prior to being refused entry whilst driving my car and there does appear to be a limit in "TL" currency which i thought was the old Turkish Lira instead of the "new Turkish Lira" which is known as "YTL" and therefore 15,000,000,000 is approx CY£5000 so i can see why that is not enough to cover a new Mercedes !

It'll b interesting to see if any insurance will ever come through with payments if need be or whether they use the excuse that nothing is valid in the trnc as such a place is not recognised legally by any nation in the globe other than Big Fat Mama Turkey.

Epsilon you can travel with a TRNC passport. I first came to the UK with my TRNC passport...in 1989!
