OK, To mertiko mou ap;ti hara (My share of happiness) by the Cypriot composer Manos Loizos ranks as joint number 1, the other equal ranking song must be Dyo Portes Ehei h Zoi, Life has two entrances, when the performer is Stelios Kazantzidis.

Close second are songs by Tsitsanis and Mitsakis. There is something about the emotion of defiance of Greek zeibekiko which stands alone in international music, perhaps some pieces of flamenco can convey the same feeling.

Then there is the exuberance of some rock and pop pieces, like Satisfaction by the Stones, Ramble on by Led Zeppelin, Dancing in the Streets performed by Tina Turner and David Bowie. And this might sound a little weak- I can see clearly now, a lightweight pop song of the 70s, but I like it.

General hint re music Humanist, look for places frequented by students and sophisticated younger people. Such places are more likely to have genuine musicians and not "stars" and clientele who wants to be seen, a common phenomenon in big bouzoukia joints.

As for specific places in Nicosia, I would not know, I have been away too long.
