Driving from Paphos to Ayia Napa ( times)

Postby davenpearsall » Sun Aug 26, 2007 8:40 pm

Hi

How long would it take to drive from Paphos to Ayia Napa? Staying in Coral Bay and really fancy the look of Water World near Ayia Napa and just wondered how long it would take to get there?

Is it mainly main roads? Any info much appreciated and any tips on driving in Cyprus would be much appreciated.

Hi Dave.

It should take just over 2 hours to get from Paphos - Ayia Napa if you stick to the speed limits (100km/h on the highway, though police won't stop up up to 119km/h. 120km/h is their magic number on the highways.

Its all highways from Paphos - Ayia Napa. On the highway, head to Larnaka. From there, at the main roundabout, you will see directions to another highway. From Larnaca it takes around 30 minutes by car.

Waterworld is awesome. I love that place. Went in April when there weren't much in the way of tourists, so got my pick of the rides whenever I wanted without queing up.

It's motorway all the way and should take you around 2 hrs. The only tip you need is to remember that every driver on the road is trying to kill you in their own individual way. Drive in such a way as to make it impossible for them and you will be fine.

There is a waterpark at Fasouri, and also one in Limassol if you want one a bit nearer.

A couple of months ago my son went to both Ayia Nappa and the Paphos waterparks and said the Paphos one was much better.
