Fires in Greece - Coordinated arsonists?

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Postby SN » Thu Aug 30, 2007 10:47 am

Thousands of Greeks gathered last night in the center of Athens,Thessaloniki,Patra and Irakleio.Wearing black and holding candles for hope thousands of people from all over the nation hold a silent protest asking Why?I was there....

Greeks protest over fire response

Many people dressed in black for the silent demonstration
Thousands of Greeks have protested over the political response to forest fires that have killed 63 people and left thousands homeless.
An estimated 8,000 people filled a square in front of the parliament building in the capital, Athens.

Meanwhile, the opposition Socialist party said the government's suggestion of a terror-like campaign of arson was designed to cover up its own failures.
The verbal attack comes two-and-a-half weeks before a general election.

Polls suggest the Socialists are trailing the ruling New Democracy Party.

Which only prooves that a lot of Greeks are fed up.The Socialists are catching up in the latest polls and the utter bullshit that the Greek govt says about a terrorist attack....or ''assymetrical threat'' shows their incopitence to cope with a disaster as such.

Having no proof whatsoever, trying to blame the leftish or anyone else for that matter demonstrates the level of retardedness of our political powers.

A country that is supposed to have the biggest and best fire-fighting equipement in the EU lost dozens of people.....oh the irony of it all....

LENA wrote:I am so mad with all this fires in Greece...when the days passes I hear more and more things that upset me...today i heard in the news that some people from a village attacked towards two firemen while they were trying to save their village...how stupid is that...I heard that Russia is making fun of Greece because the first day of that tragedy they offered them for free and plane that drops 4 tone of water every time instead of the 0.5tone that drops our plane and they said no we control it and after 4 days they ask to hire that plane from Russia ... how stupid is that??? They have a law as they say that they didnt let the army go and help the firemen only the 4th day they let some soldiers to help...the whole country is burning and they expect from women and old men to turn off the fire ... some of the citizens refused to leave their home...i know is hart but things like houses and land can rebuild but not lives. I heard somebody saying from a village that 10 of the men were trying to fight with the fire and the rest as they said they were drinking coffee or ouzo...now tell me how clever is that? They start arguing about money but the fire is still going on. Some people went to protest for what...when the fire is still on...they don’t know how to save their country but they know very well how to argue.

They are going to get a lot of money for the poor people who lost everything...I hope those money will end up in those people’s pockets and not the big bosses.

Halil Greece also rejected help from RoMacedonia and no explanasions were given,as to why we rejected the help.

The Turkish humanitarian rejection was also on the news here in Greece.Apparently Greece blocked in the borders the help.I didnt follow the story after that though.

So playing political games with the fires is only an element of a third world bordelo like Greece.

It is all so sad. But the most important thing is the capture of the people responsible, for this calamity.

I might add to Halils list to include all the lovely archeological heritage of classical Greece at Olympia and the natural beauty.  Lets hope there is not too much destruction. I also applause the Cypriot fire fighting crews for risking there lives for Greece.

Rejecting the help of any nation is stupid.

Firefighters, be they; turkish, german, macedonian, bulgarian, cypriot, french etc.. are still firefighters.
