Fires in Greece

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Postby devil » Sun Aug 26, 2007 11:04 am

Yesterday, I was prophetic when I wrote the third message in this link. I make no apologies for 'intellectually retarded'; it applies to this thread.

The fires are a tragedy and I'm sure all of us here in Cyprus, on both sides of the Green Line, offer our sympathy to the Greek people, helpless though we may be to give them physical aid. I can feel for them, as we had a bad fire in this village just over 2 weeks ago, happily without loss of life and not too much damage to physical property, but to see the flames close to ones property is frightening. Speaking selfishly, the strong wind at that time fortunately blew the fire away from us, but others were not so lucky. Whatever, we had some bad moments and can sympathise with the survivors of this horrible inferno in Greece and those who are courageous enough to fight it incessantly, without personal thought for their own comfort and safety.

I am not going to reply back...you are a grown up i think...do as you wish. I have better things to do that preaching you and if I do it i wont be polite any more.

Hope this tragedy will come to an end today.

While you two are buggering about my throat is choked with fumes and particles from the fire.

If nothing else this inane argument shows that Cypriots are Greeks, arguing is the number one hobby of the nation! It is going on now on every single TV and radio channel too, so why not in a forum like this! THis reminds me of a description of Greeks written by Cicero when he visited Greece in 70 (?) BC. We were just as bad then!

Then do it via PM. As Lena said, many parents, children and other human beings lost their lives in the great tragedy. Thousands have lost their homes, lost their livlihood, everything they have ever worked for. This isn't about nationalities or politics, its about everyone pulling together to help those affected.

I seriously hope that Admin/Mods delete or split the topics away from this thread. I think certain members here need to take a long hard look at themselves, at their behaviour here.

For the sake of those in mourning over loved ones, for the sake of those affected by this tragedy, please, give it a rest.
