Is the KKTC a pseudo state? (Article by ATA ATUN)

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Pyrpolizer » Fri Oct 05, 2007 11:12 pm

From all these "arrows" seemingly coming from nowhere be it Ata atun or others I would say the GCs should wake up and see what is the real aim of the Turkish side right now. It is scrutinizing all possible legal literature trying to find ways, to upgrade the pseudo.

There is an orchestraded parade going on.

Just a small correction Pyro, it's not coming from the "Turkish" side but from the Turkish Cypriot side as recognition of the "TRNC" is not in Turkey's interests.

Even if the Montevideo convention were applied- there is that pesky criterion: "willingness to obey international law" and International Law derives firstly from the UN Charter that prohibits colonization of occupied land.

So the whole exercise, if it were to get to the International Court of Justice most likely will end up as being Aerogamies as per Kifea's new addition to international political terminology.

I believe I already know your answer GR but even so I ask, why do say it's coming from the Turkish Cypriot side and not from Turkey?

Uh, why is TRNC independence not in Turkey's interests, GR?

There’s not a doubt that if a Turkish Cypriot state was to ever be created, the RoC, EU, and the UN would demand prerequisites such as the “TRNC” be dismantled, the Turkish military forces be totally removed from the island, the new TC state remain fully independent and not fall under any form of Turkish annexation now or in the future, and no treaties of “guarantee” be entered into.

Regards, GR.

We can live with a common defence program, as Greece and the "RoC" have GR.....Republic of Turkish Cypriots also fits well with me.

The RoC doesn't have a common defence program with Greece but a joke.
