What , in 1961 at the age of 15 !! All on my own kid , arrived at Victoria station after a weeks travel , one suitcase and £8 in my pocket. Walked out the station , was told there were many hotels in the area and could find a job , came across Apollo Hotel ! walked in , Cypriots !! Couldnt believe my luck .Food and lodgings and £6 a week , and as for the owners daughter , what a delight ! Didnt have to blow my self up to go to heavens. !!!
