Extradition From The North

Postby kafenes » Fri Aug 24, 2007 2:35 am

From the Londra Gazete

http://www.londragazete.com/popup.php/c ... glish_News

AN English man has been extradited from North Cyprus on charges of fraud, a Cypriot newspaper has claimed. The extradition would be the first from the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus to the UK.
The man was wanted in the UK after leaving the country in 2002 with a pending six-year prison sentence for fraud, Star Kibris have claimed.
The TRNC has no formal extradition treaty with the UK and has been recently compared in the media to the Costa del Sol as a magnet for criminals.
Scotland Yard said they have no knowledge of the extradition as the Gazette went to press. (notice this last paragraph was in tiny print).

It was probably on page 21 where all the non-newsworthy stories are printed.

not sure this story is correct..

Wasn't an TC sent to the UK to face charges of murder / manslaughter /arson ?

Watch out "rump" RoC .. "recognition" by the back door could be already happening .. "Immovable Property Commissions" Extraditions.. flights from the UK that don't land in Turkey, but go direct to Tymbou/Ercan.. EU and non visa citizens "allowed" to enter the "rump" RoC having entered via "TRNC"....

Drip, drip

tick , tock

A man called Kemalzade was just convicted and sentenced to 10 yrs in a TRNC court for crimes committed in the Uk. This is one of 2 such cases apparantley, and all with the co-operation of British police etc. If the crime warrents a prison sentence of 2 yrs or more then they can be tried and convicted here. I dont understand why they cant be sent back - but these two were TRNC citizens so maybe thats why? I know that Gary Robb is TRNC citizen so heres hoping..............
