His descriptions of how nature reclaims a man made environment are fascinating. The place is crawling with insects, rodents, reptiles and lots of feral cats and dogs. Trees and shrubs are growing through the cracks n the streets. It sounds fascinating froma biological and ecological point of view.

Has the north ever came to try and make a deal like, i'll give you varosha for x? And if they did what was the deal?
I think one of the deals involved 'recognition ' of the TRNC. Tha was not and will not be forthcoming so there it stands.
I cant remember what else was on the table except a cup of Cyprus coffee a bottle of Keo beer and Cyprus delight
Famagusta, even as a dead city, still helping its own citizens- Its show to the World and particularly the high salary politicians in Eu how Eu will be when Turks enter (if this ever happen) in.

Thanks Nikitas
That what was crossing my mind when looking in from outside . In certain places the fences look so easy to get past if you put your mind to it . I am NOT suggesting for a moment that anyone should do this because of the obvious dangers but as you say I find it fascinating what it must be like in there after so long .

There have been several major protests at the case fire line near Varosha. The international media gave it a few seconds, but that did no change much. The prize is just too big to let it go.
DA when was Varosha offered and in return for what? Part of the Varosha city was offered in the Annan plan, about a third would remain under Turkish Cypriot control. Other than these two "offers" I have not seen any others and as a Fmagustian, or Varoshiotis if you like that better, I keep an eye out on new about my city.
The keeping of 40 000 people away from their homes is a unique act of cruelty that even the Nazis did not commit in World War II. How can that act be construed as propaganda by the Greek Cypriot side, do you understand what you are saying?
