ERDOGAN SAYS

Postby halil » Wed Aug 22, 2007 12:49 pm

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stressed that Turkey will not let the usurpation of any rights of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus while proceeding on the European Union process.
Turkish Premier touched upon the Cyprus issue at a TV program on a private Turkish TV Channel he attended last night.

Responding to a question concerning the opening of the Turkish ports to the Greek Cypriot traffic Mr. Erdogan stated that Turkey’s position is so clear on the issue and added that Turkey will say yes to this only when mutual steps will be taken.

He added that Turkey had shown its good will intention on the issue during Finland and Germany’s term presidency.

Stating that Turkey will not let the usurpation of any rights of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Mr. Erdogan said the TRNC will gain something with every step to be taken.

He also reminded that during Germany’s EU Term Presidency three new chapters were opened for negotiations and added that works are continuing on these chapters.

I did not see any positives on Unification in this statement, therefore:

Sounds like no EU for Turkey.

Sounds like no lifting of isolation for the "TRNC".

Sounds like no Recognition for the "TRNC".

Dear oranos64 I am very distressed with your post... if indeed you are Greek and Christian you should then know that Christ taught against this mentality in fact He said those that fight with the sword shall die by the sword ... He also said you should LOVE your enemy as yourself. Did the Greek Church teach you the Bible? It appears that this is not the case.

that rubbish why would turkey need isolations lifted if they want peace and re unified land? they just want a recognised TRNC lying thievs!!!! the lot of stupid turks!

if turkey are true about their intentions they would let cyprus planes fly and not care about the so called "isolations" in the north because when the land is re unified there will be none stupid blakes we are tasking all the steps then turkey say F U we arent doing anything... now cyprus DO more!!! then AGAIn turkey dont budge there is no reasoning with the turks, they wont be happy until the world recognises the TRNC

I do strongly agree with you that the world should never recognise the TRNC nether the northern part of Cyprus as long as the Turks occupied it ... in the Biblical perspectives Jesus said ... Satan comes to still to kill and destroy and that is exactly what the Turks did do Cyprus. You see Satan can use human to do his task in this case using the Turks you get that. ISOLATIONS IS THE ONLY OPTION Cyprus HAS AT THIS TIME

Theodore, our religion is full of saints who have had to use some kind of force to defend themselves.

Also, after Erdogan's statements...are Turkish Cypriots still trying to kid themselves that Papadopolous should not seek to speak with Erdogan as oppsed to Talat - because once again we can see who is really pulling the strings in the occupied north???

Ending the isolation of the TC community post annan plan is the stated policy of the UN and the AGREED policy of the EU and the reason is to make future reunification easier.

From the 2576th EU Council meeting in Luxembourg, 26 April 2004

http://ue.eu.int/ueDocs/cms_Data/docs/p ... /80142.pdf

The Council is determined to put an end to the isolation of the Turkish Cypriot communityand to facilitate the reunification of Cyprus by encouraging the economic development of theTurkish Cypriot community. The Council invited the Commission to bring forward comprehensive proposals to this end, with particular emphasis on the economic integration of the island and on improving contact between the two communities and with the EU.

Oh and from the list of attendees at this meeting where EU policy is AGREED and SET at the highest level we have

Cyprus :Mr George IACOVOU Minister for Foreign Affairs

ending isolation in the north will make the turkish do nothing! it does not make re unification easier only a 5 yr old baby would believe that... it makes a step towards TRNC being recognised it means when they have no isolations they have no reason to budge towards re unification

talat is full of crap
