Northern Cyprus

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Northern Cyprus

Postby lovecyprus » Tue Aug 21, 2007 4:05 pm

We are visiting Northern Cyprus in October, only ever visited the South before.

We are flying to Larnaca then travelling to Kyrenia by coach, the brochure says it takes 90 mins from Larnaca to Kyrenia.

My question is has anyone travelled by coach from Larnaca to Kyrenia? I love travelling but my stomach doesnt, can anyone tell me if the coach actualy stops en-route, or has the coach got a toilet on board. I have emailed the travel agent, but still have had no reply.

Please could someone put my mind at rest. I would be very grateful.

You may find that it could be a minibus rather than a coach (could be wrong). I very much doubt that they will stop en-route.

Thank you Hazza, we have booked our holiday with Cyprus Paradise, in the brochure there is a picture of the coach wth Cyprus Paradise on the side, the coach does look nice. But having said that, I don't know if the coach picks us up at Larnaca or the border. This is why I put forward the question. There must be someone out there who has in the past booked with Cyprus Paradise. It's just the unknown which worries me.

You obviously realise you are holidaying in illegal territory, held by force by some 40,000+ troops, yet you still choose to do so. Shame on you.

The place you are likely to be staying at could well belong to a GC and being denied the right to return.

Have you asked the owners permission ? No ? thought not, as long as you get your F cheap holiday you couldn't give a rats arse.

F You, hope it turns out to be shit.

Theiving git.

And before any one comes to their defence TC or GC, same to you to. This is the kind of behaviour that prolongs the solution to both sides. The TCs think it is in their favour to promote it, but in the long run it ain't. The GC government, as shit as they are, should take more action on situations like this, but hey as long as they get their salaries paid regularly they don't care anyway.

What a horrible reply, you are obviously Cypriot, I thought all Cypriot people were nice, obviously not. if i'd known I would receive a reply like that then I wouldnt have bothered asking questions on this forum.

We have been going to Cyprus (South) for the past 14 years, yes we do know the full story, but would like to see for ourselves just what the North is like.

No we shall not have a horrible time, and I will write a message on this forum to let you know.

lovecyprus, if you call as "border" the cease fire line where the Turkish troops stopped their invasion then either you don't know the full story as you claim or you adopt a pro-invader stance which is expected to cause a negative reaction.

Turkish republic of northern invaded cyprus the only difference is they have casinos and 2 seconds and u circle all of northern cy.

the beach in Keryneia would like if when u go its still hot.
they wont stop the coach they take you to nicosia from larnaka then at the boarder you show them passports and u go ahead maybe u might be able to get off at the boarder for a min or two but not likely that u will get out until you are in the north.

dont judge him, many on this form shout first think later, all cypriots have strong feelings on this subject and calling the republic of cyprus "south cyprus" will surely offend all greek cypriots. All cypriots are nice and there is only one topic that can turn them into the nastiest people.
anyways my family are from larnaca and i have driven to kyrenia from there. Its not a bad drive (by car) and it does take well over an hour. Its a lovely place, all of cyprus is. Its different to most other place as it has the sea infront and the mountains behind, abit like akamas if youve been. I hope you have a nice time! but remember that the place you stay at might belong to the people like pantheman and there is nothing he can do about it, so he is going to be unhappy about it.

oh and pantherman before you get angry at me when i went to the northern part i took a picnic and didnt spend a penny, i just wanted to be able to say ive seen every part of my island.
