You are spot on.
However Pyrpolizer for clarification it should really read "how it was sold to us" instead of "how it was being sold to us"

Not all TC's took GC land in the North as "exchange" you know. There are many TC's who left Cyprus before 1974, who have every right to do what ever they wanted with their land in the South, including, selling it.

So why did the agents mention it? I was told it was TC land prior to 1974. When we looked at other developments it was not part of the sales process where the agents told us the deeds where GC owned prior to 1974 although we did ask. This information was given to us voluntarily.
As I said to Pyrpolizer I wil be back down in a few weeks to look at the property and ask the agent for the details/brochures on the properties and then maybe there will be clarification of the position.

VP firstly I wish to say that if TC land in the ROC has been sold to developers. That is wrong and hypocritical.
The land that has been used for refugee camp. Learn from the past I believe is your signature. Where do you expect people to live as you took their homes.
I guarantee you that all those people occupying those homes on that land would be happy to have their homes returned and hand that back. Secondly I would encourage that to occur and thirdly I would say leave the homes on their for the land owners to access, so long they do not hold refugee land in the occupied areas. Can you say the same? That is the question.

I think you are confusing matters here by saying that the TC land has been developed and sold to GC's.
If you investigate this I think ( in fact I'm sure ) you will find that portions of TC land have been given to GC refugees ( around 500 sq m each ) and that refugee has built a house on it -- the sting is that they are told from the very beginning that the land will never be theirs and no deeds will be issued ~~ if a solution is reached (if) they may be required to give up their house and the land as it wasn't theirs to begin with.
Only GC refugees can take advantage of this scheme and the land can never be sold as there are no deeds
A lot of GC's have built some very magnificent houses in the hope that there will never be a solution .
It's a hell of a risk for the GC refugee to take but considering the lack of progress so far it looks as if they will be in those houses for many years to come
This "borrowing" of land is in stark contrast to the wholesale selling off of GC land in the north and when built on sold to foreigners which in my opinion is fraud / theft.

I have no problem with the refugees, you missed the point I was trying to make about TC land being exploited which GCs flatly deny, this is just another example which has not come to light in the press it does not mean that it is not happening, the only difference is GCs are better at hiding the real facts.
Did you consult the refugees in Limasol about giving up their homes yet again? did they exchange land for the TC land or did they get it for free? Should they be thrown out after 33 years? and how about TCs who got nothing in the north and have property in the south? Those TCs who have received land for nothing should pay or return what they have with the property they have erected or offer to pay the GC owner.
