Northern Cyprus

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

You are spot on.

However Pyrpolizer for clarification it should really read "how it was sold to us" instead of "how it was being sold to us"

How do we know, that the original TC owner of the piece of land where the development is taking place, was not sold by the TC owner to whomever since 1974. Not all TC's took GC land in the North as "exchange" you know. There are many TC's who left Cyprus before 1974, who have every right to do what ever they wanted with their land in the South, including, selling it.

So why did the agents mention it? I was told it was TC land prior to 1974. When we looked at other developments it was not part of the sales process where the agents told us the deeds where GC owned prior to 1974 although we did ask. This information was given to us voluntarily.

As I said to Pyrpolizer I wil be back down in a few weeks to look at the property and ask the agent for the details/brochures on the properties and then maybe there will be clarification of the position.

Maybe he was trying to make you feel good, by saying it was once owned by a TC. Perhaps he thought you would get all sentimental and sign on the dotted line by wanting to protect old TC land and now it was your chance to take it back from the GC's, I don't know Stuballstu. One thing sales people are good at, and that is to make you feel good when buying anything. Next day after the sale, they don't care any more about you..

It's the same with the Hookers and Card Dealers. The number of times I thanked the dealers in Las Vegas before leaving the Black Jack tables BROKE. Why, because they made me feel good, while I was losing my money to them.

As for Hookers, I have no experience in that field. I will ask our good friend MR-from-NG to provide us with the details.

Does anybody remember the case of the 2 TC brothers who returned after living their whole lives abroad, and they were found living inside a tent in their own fields saying "we will cultivate them and live from the fruit and vegetables we will be producing"?

Does anybody remember what village that was?

I think you are confusing matters here by saying that the TC land has been developed and sold to GC's.

If you investigate this I think ( in fact I'm sure ) you will find that portions of TC land have been given to GC refugees ( around 500 sq m each ) and that refugee has built a house on it -- the sting is that they are told from the very beginning that the land will never be theirs and no deeds will be issued ~~ if a solution is reached (if) they may be required to give up their house and the land as it wasn't theirs to begin with.

Only GC refugees can take advantage of this scheme and the land can never be sold as there are no deeds

A lot of GC's have built some very magnificent houses in the hope that there will never be a solution .

It's a hell of a risk for the GC refugee to take but considering the lack of progress so far it looks as if they will be in those houses for many years to come

This "borrowing" of land is in stark contrast to the wholesale selling off of GC land in the north and when built on sold to foreigners which in my opinion is fraud / theft.

The refugee camp (really nice houses) in Limasol built on TC land is 55 donums and a part of this has been development by private developers and sold to GCs, this is yet another example of how these issues are kept quite in the south and only a few surface and are quickly brushed to one side as unimportant, what do you call people who say one thing and do another Hypocrite that's the word.

VP firstly I wish to say that if TC land in the ROC has been sold to developers. That is wrong and hypocritical.

The land that has been used for refugee camp. Learn from the past I believe is your signature. Where do you expect people to live as you took their homes.

I guarantee you that all those people occupying those homes on that land would be happy to have their homes returned and hand that back. Secondly I would encourage that to occur and thirdly I would say leave the homes on their for the land owners to access, so long they do not hold refugee land in the occupied areas. Can you say the same? That is the question.

I have no problem with the refugees, you missed the point I was trying to make about TC land being exploited which GCs flatly deny, this is just another example which has not come to light in the press it does not mean that it is not happening, the only difference is GCs are better at hiding the real facts.

Did you consult the refugees in Limasol about giving up their homes yet again? did they exchange land for the TC land or did they get it for free? Should they be thrown out after 33 years? and how about TCs who got nothing in the north and have property in the south? Those TCs who have received land for nothing should pay or return what they have with the property they have erected or offer to pay the GC owner.

Bill a slight correction if I may. The self housing schemes where on GOVERNMENT LAND. Very few refugees had the financial ability to build by themselves a new house. Those few took the offer.

Among those FEW some (i estimate about 100 persons) finally realized that the land which they were given WAS NOT Government land, it was TC land. Those people are today sueing the RoC, because it refuses to give them title deeds (because the land still belongs to TCs).

Even in this messy case it is obvious the Roc refuses to give title deeds for TC land.
And then we have people here claiming the TC land has been stolen and sold to developers. What a disgusting effort to equate the real thieves with the innocent that is.

a)Tell us how exactly the TC land is being exploited then wise guy, and what exactly is it we deny.

Here the facts:

i)The Tc land is being cultivated.
ii)The Tc houses (those who did not fall down by themselves) were given to refugees, to just live in.
iii) Other properties were been given on rent to refugees, and the money deposited on the TC owner's account in the government.
iv)some people illegally builted temporary rough shelters on TC lands, just to make a living, like small restaurants etc. The authorities know about it but turn a blind eye as long as the building is a sham. Who could deprive a refugee the right to do something really drafty, to just make a living, when those constructions can be torn down within an hour after a solution?

NO GC ever received a title deed for TC property, NO TC land was ever stolen or sold by anyone. (except 2 cases involving fraud where they ended in jail.)

Now tell me what you ve done in the pseudo.

b) We don't accept any responsibility for whatever illegalities and exchanges or sharing the loot you 've done in the occupied.

NB. Did you get a divorce from Zany? :P :P :P :P
