I think the only reason why they keep talking about brothels and casinos is because they spend most of their time in those establishments.
You really do need to go there and see for yourselves - I take it none of these exist where you are ? Or in the RoC ?
All you have to do to find out about brothels, drug trade and murders in the "RoC" is read their online newspapers.

Police officers embroiled in prostitution case
By John Leonidou
POLICE ARE planning a disciplinary hearing into the case of three police officers who were on the clientele list of a man suspected of prostituting two women in his Limassol cabaret.
Yesterday, Police Chief Iacovos Papacostas informed reporters that the three officers – two officers and a sergeant – were reported to Limassol CID following a complaint by Father Savvas Michaelides, a priest with the Russian Church in Cyprus and who runs a shelter for exploited women in Limassol.
Two Russian women told Father Michaelides of their alleged ordeal.
“We have already moved swiftly with regards to the disciplinary investigation of the matter”, said the police chief yesterday.
“We have discovered evidence in which three of our law enforcement members are involved in this scandal. We have moved towards written complaints against our members and soon until the end of the week, a disciplinary committee will come together to oversee the matter.”
He added, “The suspension of the officers will not be of an advantage to anyone.
“We are pleased to have finally got to the men who appear to be involved in this ring.”
The two women, who were placed in police custody in the raid on the cabaret and are now under police protection, will testify against the three officers at the disciplinary hearing.
They will also testify against the cabaret owner who is currently facing criminal charges of pimping and exploiting women for money at the Limassol District Court.

Two remanded after guns find
By John Leonidou
TWO MEN from Kato Pyrgos were yesterday arrested and remanded in police custody after Drug Squad (YKAN) officers discovered a gun inside one of the men’s car.
According to CID Investigator Socrates Socratous, YKAN officers stopped the first suspect at around 10pm on Wednesday night by because of a reasonable suspicion that there were drugs in the car.
“The suspicions were heightened after the 34-year-old driver became aggressive when one of the officers said that he wanted to search his vehicle. He then attacked the officer and was immediately arrested.”
During the search, police found a pistol and bullets.
The two men were then taken into police custody for questioning.
“In the statement he gave to police”, the investigator continued, “the first suspect said that he had borrowed the car from a second 36-year-old suspect because his own had broken down.
“The second suspect had also reportedly told him that he believed he was being watched by police and that he had put his pistol in the car.
“The first suspect also told us that he was getting ready to hide the pistol when the police stopped him.”
Police later went to the 36-year-old house where they found other weapons in his living room and bedroom.
Investigators yesterday told the court that forensics were currently looking into whether the guns that were found had been used in criminal activities in the past.
Yesterday, a Nicosia District Court remanded the two men in police custody for eight days.
