Thanks for remembering,Nikitas...

When Talat and Soyer serve their purpose, they will be tossed away like Denktash was...Mr Yonluer's party will come to power on the back of the majority settler voters...Welcome to the Islamic Republic of North Cyprus,as my karma says... :(

Bir,

Do you think the Turkish Military in the "TRNC" is going to exercise it's "Military Coup" options to keep it a "secular state" so that the Casinos and the Whorehouses remain open, not to mention the flow of illegal Drug Trade.

I don't think the secular state is in danger,Kikapu...Their purpose here is to remove any doubt that TCs might one day rise up and demand to be heard...Talat is suspect because of his past leftist leanings, and his now-abandoned desire for reunification.Erdogan wants to make sure there is always an alternative more close to his world view. One he can really count on to deliver whatever Ankara wants...The gambling joints, the whorehouses and the drug trade arein safe hands. No one can touch them....As long as the votes go Yonluer's way and he does what he is told... :( :(

Well, that's a relief, that the Whorehouses will be left open to keep the Turkish Troops happy, or else the saying in Turkey about the TC's finding a "Hat hanging on the door, will be a Helmet instead".

"Relief" is certainly the operative word here,Kikapu... :D

I think a lot of soldiers tried to hang their helmets on doors in Cyprus, but soon found that the prejudices they held were wildly differrent in reality...

Well, as my old Girlfriend use to say, "Hard dick has no conscience".

Is it the same setup in the North ?

Yes,mate...
In Turkey the secular state governs and pays the salaries of all Imams...
Imams are the poorest paid public servants in Turkey. They are now demanding to be paid overtime, because they start work around 4am and do not finish till midnight...I can't see the government giving in.I think there are around 70,000 imams in Turkey, and this has the potential of equaling the money spend on the military!!!The state would be bankrupt in no time... :D Just a thought...what would happen if the decide to go on strike??? :? :?

It is the same set up in the North, but I have no idea how their salaries compare. They are nowhere as influential as in Turkey. But that might be about to change...
Hi there birkibrisli
Yes imams in Turkey are the poorest public servant but the money they are recive from the muslim brothers and sisters count in thousands and thousands. They recive donations all the time. I went to the mosque once in London for the Ramadan preyer. At the end of preyer the imams took out some trays and give it to young boys to go araund and collect some money from the pupil. When they pass next to me I had a quick look to the trays and it must have few thousand £ in there.
So it`s the same in Turkey-TRNC

Anything else you 2 want to propagandise???? No wonder the GCs love you two...you do their jobs better than they do!

You 2 invent your own propaganda and then blame others of doing the same, you think you're SO right in everything, so your drivel appears (to you) as the truth and you think it's justified but it's just the same thing = PROPAGANDA

Propaganda is propaganda and it doesn't make it any more acceptable if it's coming from so called "unificationists".

As usual these two read something in the news and try to tell us about our own people, like they even know them

The Turks hate us? You are clueless! This isn't even worth replying to, I've never heard such utter nonsense. You must be speaking from personal experience, in which I wouldn't be suprised (at all) if they hated YOU or called YOU "g***r pichi" ( ) but they certainly don't hate those of us who embrace our Turkishness as much as our Cypriotness!!!! Again you have no idea what you're talking about but you're just dishing out propaganda to everything you THINK you know to try make your point.

It's like the TCs who read one article and then use it as a weapon as to why we shouldn't unite. You are no different...it's the same thing...you say anything to have your own way, you will use anything to prove your point no matter how petty or ridiculous it is...anyways I haven't got much time but I think this conversation deserves it's own thread and it's own thread it shall have!!!

Watch this space!!!!!! :P

Oh and you want to know how I know you two do that?? Because I do the same but the other way around. I read something bad about GCs and then my mind goes haywire...but at least I realise!!!!! You two are like propaganda machines...but the really really old dated type that malfunctions all the time!!!!

I thought you had more sense that this,Garagoz...
Just because you don't like to hear what we are saying it does not make it Propaganda...I know very much what I am talking about.
Gragoz...I have worked as an interpreter with people from Turkey for years, and they had no idea I was a Cypriot because I am very good at imitating accents. This is how I know what they really think about us.Their guards were down most of the time.I have also lived in Turkey for extended periods of time, and married a Turkish lady...I am not making anything up.Why should I ???Why should Kikapu??? What possible motive can we have to put our own side down??? We are just telling our truths as we see them, without being intimidated by those who would silence us,because they would rather push their own propaganda...But I agree with you on one thing. We need to debate this issue properly...It is of course wrong to generalise, not all people from Turkey have such prejudices. But enough do to make it a very annoying and destructive influence in TC life...It should be brought out in the open... 8)

Oh come on, this topic is serious but then you suddenly divert it and get carried away with your constant put down of the TRNC and talk of casinos, whorehouses and the drug trade. You really do need to go there and see for yourselves - I take it none of these exist where you are ? Or in the RoC ?

BK, I am surprised that you have not insulted his family or are you saving that for a little later in the thread in case you get stuck again on your arguments?

Makarios was a religious man but yeah I know, he was your type of "leader" because he was not a Muslim and we know you hate anything Muslim or Turkish, you've proven that time and time again.

I know that if a Priest became the "President" of the "RoC" you would go and kiss not his hand bit anther part of his anatomy where he sits on.

Will you SHUT UP? I am sick of your dirty language in here. Or should I remind you the other thread where there is nothing you haven't said.
As if quoting what the mainland Turks say for the TCs, was a personal insult for your own family. Just admit it you reacted paranoidly.

We don't want priests neither muftis for leaders. That age is over.

Exactly LondonBoy! They don't see the cracks in their own arguments and think they're right in everything!

Propaganda = Any media text which seeks openly to persuade an audience of the validity of particular beliefs.

So BK...you spent some time in Turkey and you were in disguise as a Turkiyeli and you found out that some people there don't like the Turkish Cypriots....and now you're trying to persuade us this how the Turks see us and how they don't like us! How can you claim this isn't propaganda?

I know you think it's because I don't like what I'm hearing but this is NOT the case AT ALL!!!!! It's like what LondonBoy said you're talking about whorehouses as thought it's rare for a country to have them. Because it's the TRNC you are quick to put us down and to make matters worse you actually claim this isn't propaganda....

We shall discuss this later on.

Are you sure you are not talking about the Church wolf? It is a well known
fact that the Church is amongst the riches organisations around and also have a lot to say in politics, especially in the Greek South Cyprus.

Yeah, I think you are talking about the experiences you had when you went to Church to ask for forgiveness and realised they are the ones who should be asking for forgiveness instead.

You all that "dirty language"? I could have used a**e but I didn't, you are just upset because I have turned the table around and am talking about Priests instead of you talking and taking the piss out of my religion.

So SHUT UP yourself

See, I can shout as well.

How can anyone with a small head like your be so stupid is beyond anyones comprehension. He was talking about my wife you idiot not about the mainland Turks. I'd like to see how you would react if I or anyone else started talking about your wife being f***ed by strangers.

We don't want priests neither muftis for leaders. That age is over.

Neither do I you fool but I will not let anyone say anything bad about my people or my religion for their own stupid propaganda purposes and if you can't understand that then you are no better than that idiot Birkibrisli.
