Isn't there ANYTHING that we can do? Can't we write to someone? The government? Sign a petition?

We need to do something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is obviously sanctioned by Turkey,t-c...So even Talat or Soyer cannot do anything even if they wanted to.
Our only hope is for the Papadopoulos Government to make as much noise as possible in the international arena, siting the appropriate conventions Turkey is breaking by such act of entrenching the occupation...The Green group I mentioned earlier is threatening direct action...If they can be supported by the green groups in the Republic that would be a good start...I will keep reporting on the events as they happen.

This maybe good news for Karpasia,

The European Union has offered funds aimed at bringing reneable and non intrusive power supply to the Karpasia region. The sums are not huge but enough to stave off the planned elecrtification with above the ground pylons. The report was in today's Politis issue. No response has been made by the Turkish Cypriot leadership yet.

What Afrika has cited lends further proof to the concerns of the opposition. Papadopoulos, pretends he does not know what is happening on the other side, which is a direct result of our "no" vote and the inactivity of his government.

Deflowering of Karpasia is an understatement. Those of us who still visit the north witness the changes which are taking place on an almost daily basis.

And if the vote was yes then what would be different? Have you ever read this famous Annan plan? You right it would be at least a problem on the oil case- Turkey would be the controller of the sea and air space of Cyprus- good night

They are erecting 367 poles above ground as we speak,Nikitas.
The problem is not the electricity. But the crazy development plans I mentioned before...They will destroy the last untouched environment left in the North. Economically it will be disaster. So what is the point???
Development for the sake of it...And to propose to spend 250 Million pounds, they would need ironclad guarantees that the area will always stay in Turkish control...I am sure they have been given that guarantee.
So goodbye any fair and lasting solution... :(
