Cyprus's Problems

Everything related to politics in Cyprus and the rest of the world.

I am an Australian/ Cypriot and yes we do. I am sure that they will get energy star appliances in Cyprus too. But that is only a very small part in saving the environment.

With a solution to the Cyprus problem and all the moneys saved from running the national guard on daily basis I am sure the savings could go toward, rain water tanks per household, fully solar powered electricity homes and solar powered recycling operations per household.

The beauty about Cyprus is that it is so small so there is not reason why each village can not have centrally run grey water collection lagoons, where water is then treated and recycled ether for gardens or for consumtion and household use.

I know the scale of this global problem, America spends 12 billion a month in Iraq, think what that could do for alternative energy and fuels. Oh i know in Europe there are some electric cars, What about Cyprus

Re elecgtric cars,

There is a rep in Cyprus for the Reva electric car, developed by joint US Indian interests. I think the the company is called electricitymobility.

Mitsingas, my friend, bought one of those. The government subsidised him with 600 CP. Regarding the water shortage problem, desalinasion is the immediate answer. However, because we got a little bit of rain 4 years ago, we put them on hold and now we are up against it. Our dams will be dry come next February. Yet, no effort is made to save water. Elections are looming large and they count more for our patriotic leaders who are fighting day and night to save us from Turkey, not thirst.
