He rejects all the facts we give right away, while he accepts that the Turkish history books are objective while he never read a single line from them. So for Cannedmoose, objective = whatever Turks say.
I guess he feels the need to defend Turkey because his country, a colonial power, cause as much suffering as Turkey, and probably more, around the world. And then these people instead of looking at their own countries they come to accuse us!!! Sorry, but we don't take lectures from you on this matter.
Perhaps Piratis, you'd like to tell my GC wife that I'm a Turk lover... then again, in your mind she's probably a traitor for marrying an evil colonialist rather than a GC.
IF you ever actually come up with a 'fact' (the definition of which is always subject to dispute anyway), it might actually lend some credence to the usual slice of meaningless propaganda that you dish out on this forum. Just because someone doesn't swallow your view of events, you go on to label them as pro-Turk... I really find your view inconceivable as coming from a fellow European citizen, it's such a narrow way of thinking.
As for me being an outsider, my family lives in Cyprus, my wife's family are Cypriot, I have spent many, many moons on the island (the Greek side might I add). The fact is that I am probably more 'Cypriot' than you, because I embrace people from both sides of the Green Line as my brothers.
As for me carrying colonial baggage mate, I don't think so, that's for my grandfather's generation to carry, I feel no guilt about the British Empire whatsoever.
So Piratis, come up with some posts of real vision, compassion and tolerance and I will afford you some respect. I doubt as an evil Brit I'll ever get the same from you, but never mind, I can take that, I think like a post-modern European, not someone stuck in the 1950s.
