BARBARIANS NICOSIA, SUNDAY

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Viewpoint » Thu Feb 24, 2005 4:12 pm

This situation is very sad we have not made any progress by learning from our painful history, we still approach every issue with an eye for an eye theory.
The past is in the past and constantly serving it up get us nowhere, it s a very sorry state of affairs. The mentality is the same as those in the 1950, 1960 & 1970.
Does this show we cannot live together as we are not forgiving and will always feel that the other community is trying to get the upper hand???

Thanks for your excellent post Cannedmoose. :D

So, rather than dwelling on figures and blame all the time, let's look to areas where we can agree upon in this forum. Simply to keep banging on about blame gets us nowhere.

Also, at this point I completely agree with you however we failed to agree upon anything at all. Now I think we must analyze the reasons of this failure. In the end if no solution would be satisfactory for vast majority of both sides; we should focus upon how we could seperate our roads, in a friendly manner. Why should we insist on if it is obviously impossible? A part of GCs(including Tassos and his team) say, TCs neither have the right to be a "politically equal" state partner of GC community, nor have the right to seperate the roads, in a friendly manner.

So what we should do?

Oh really? So what about our past experiences that were 100 times worst, for a duration 100 times longer?

It is very clear that you selectively use a small part of our history as an excuse, and you forget everything else.

I really don't see why we even argue with your lame excuses. It is very clear that you know that you have the tanks of Turkey behind you and you are trying to screw us again. So drop the mask and the excuses, nobody is buying your crap in here.

Piratis, you completely confusing the huge distinction of being under the rule of Ottoman empire and being the "politically equal" state partner of TC community. your crapped mentality does not lead us anywhere.

Cannedmoose, a Turk lover, accepts everything that the Turkish propaganda tells him, while at the same time he rejects everything we say.

He rejects all the facts we give right away, while he accepts that the Turkish history books are objective while he never read a single line from them. So for Cannedmoose, objective = whatever Turks say.

I guess he feels the need to defend Turkey because his country, a colonial power, cause as much suffering as Turkey, and probably more, around the world. And then these people instead of looking at their own countries they come to accuse us!!! Sorry, but we don't take lectures from you on this matter.

How can he have an opinion about some books that he never read?
Is there any other way to explain this, other than he simply accepts as a fact whatever Turks say?

lol,

first of all cannedmoose i believe is a woman (unless the RoC has allowed gay marraiges and i didnt know). and secondly, i really dont think "turk lover" is the proper term to describe her.

she just needs to get a little of her facts straight is what i believe.

and yesi think pirati you over did it this time.

Look you judging on assumption, how do you know he has not read the books or seen the movies.

But if i tell you that i agree with your view of the complete right of return of all gc refugees does that make me a greek lover and a traitor to the turks or does it make me a cypriot lover who wants peace in his country and recognises human rights.
