WOW ~~ I didn't know they had them in limassol.

I know they have made a token gesture to the EU by providing them in Nicosia ~ sadly they are emptied in the same place as the rest of the rubbish ~~ in the city dump

Paper is not manufactured in Cyprus, therefore collecting waste paper and exporting it would be too expensive.
We have recycling bins outside a supermarket near where I live in Limassol, but they are usually piled high with all sorts of rubbish, not recyclable materials. The refuse wagon comes and empties everything in the crusher and it obviously goes to landfill.
The Cypriots need some education about recycling, but the authorities should also do their bit and show that some materials are actually recycled.

There is a company in Strovolos (near Orphanides) that collects, bales and exports waste paper for recycling (amongst other things).

What you could do in Limassol is to ask Carrefour whether you can add it to their waste. Theoretically, they have to send 75% of their packing materials, mostly cartons, which count as paper, for recycling (EU directive).

This is the Cyprus Forum!!! I'm known here for my satanic character. Some people have addressed me as Diabolical Brian, for my sins, as well. Before I retired, my main job was working as a consultant for the Swiss Federal Office of the Envionment and the United Nations Environment Programme.
